I'm surprised at the horrible reviews. I have a Uniden phone and it works great. I don't know what model # but it is a 5.8 without an antenna sticking out. My company bought one becuase they needed a speaker phone in the conference room and Uniden was one of the only ones that had a speakerphone on the handsets (it was for a phone line dedicated to call monitoring, not a normal phone line). When I bought the phone I tried it out at home first. I was able to walk down the street about 3 houses before I heard static, and about 4 or 5 before the call finally dropped. At work I'm thinking there was a good distants of about 35-40 yards of distance through 2 walls, a bunch of computers, and a wireless network and worked flawlessly. I like it so much I bought a refurbished one from Fry's when it went on sale later that week. Because of this I had in my mind Uniden phones must be top notch, but I guess its not true across the board. |

Thank you so much for the 15 off 75. Looks like this one has no restrictions, so I really hope they accept it. |

Don't buy this just because it is 5.8Ghz. This one is Analog phone. 5.8Ghz phone range is already shorter than 900Mhz phone. And Analog phone is even worse range than digital. And Analog phone sound quality is very bad compare to Digital also.
So when you have 5.8Ghz AND Analog phone, just read the Amazon reviews posted, we know the quality is very bad (in term of range and sound quality). You pretty much need to stand next to the base to get good quality call. |

Don't know why the review is so bad. I'm using it now and tested it several ways. The receiver is at the corner of living room: 1. Within my apartment not even a tiny bit of noice has been heard; 2. Within the building but climb one floor up, there is also no noice at all; 3. One floor lower and step out of the building, a bit noice starts to coming out in the street but the noice is not continuous and there is no problem to hear or speak.
The phone, at least my copy, is great. Thanks OP!!! |
