Claim submission Process 1. Fill out the online claim form completely and accept the terms and conditions to commence the claims process.
2. Upon completion of your online transaction, Market Velocity will send within 24 hours, a Sony Trade Confirmation E-mail containing the quote number and instructions on the next step of the claim process. Reference this quote number for any questions relating to the promotion. Please print two copies of the Sony Trade Confirmation Email (one to submit and one to save for your records).
3. Within one business day of completing your online transaction, an email with the subject line "Sony Trade-in Shipping Instructions" will be emailed to the address you provided during registration. The 'Sony Trade-in Shipping Instructions Email' will provide the steps for retrieving your shipping label or shipping placard. The 'Sony Trade-in Shipping Instructions Email' will contain embedded links. Simply click on the link while connected to the Internet and a printer and your prepaid, pre-addressed shipping label or shipping placard will appear. A separate window will open to direct you on how to print out your label or placard. Print two copies, and attach one to the shipment of your trade-in product and retain the second copy for tracking purposes. If you are trading multiple items, a link for each item will appear in the email.
4. Fax your proof of purchase sales invoice(s) and/or lease documents along with the "Sony Trade Confirmation Email" to 770-925-9064. These documents must be received by Market Velocity within 30 days after your transaction submission and no later than September 30, 2006 or whatever date comes first. Please be sure to keep a copy of your entire claim for your records.
4a. If you are unable to fax these documents, please mail all required documentation to the address, postmarked no later than September 30, 2006:

5. Return your trade-in product using the prepaid shipping label which will be included in a subsequent email. You must return trade-in notebook(s) in accordance with the instructions provided by Sony. The trade-in product(s) must be shipped within thirty (30) days from the date you completed the transaction. The shipping label is valid for thirty (30) days from the online transaction date.
6. Once your trade-in product is received and the transaction is validated, your rebate check will be mailed to the shipping address you designated when registering for the program. Please allow 4-6 weeks from the time your trade-in claim is completed and all supporting hardware and documentation received for rebate check issuance. The date of your claim is completed is calculated based upon receipt of your trade-in notebook(s) and receipt of your proof of purchase documents (invoice/lease documents) along with a copy of the ‘Sony Trade Confirmation Email’ sent to you by Market Velocity. Transaction Discrepancies: All transactions must be submitted no later than September 30, 2006 and your trade-in product shipped within thirty (30) days of the transaction submission date or October 30, 2006, whichever date occurs first. Transactions submitted after September 30, 2006 will not be accepted.
All incomplete claims will be automatically rejected and customer will promptly be notified of such rejection. Rejected claims must be corrected and resubmitted to be re-processed. If any claim matches one or more of the following criteria, it will be considered an incomplete claim: missing any information requested in the online claim form, missing proof of purchase/lease documents, invoice with invalid purchase/lease date, invalid trade-in product(s) and/or traded in product(s) are not shipped within the 30 day limit.
Eligibility: 1. The Sony® VAIO® Professional Notebook "Go Pro 2" Program is available only for purchases/leases of new Sony VAIO® Professional VGN-BX 540, 560 or 570 series notebooks through authorized Sony resellers and is valid for purchases and residents only in the United States, excluding territories.
2. Program participant must hold legal title to the trade-in product(s), free of liens or security interests, and have the legal right to transfer the trade-in product(s) to Sony’s program administrator. You must have proof of purchase of the trade-in product(s). Title to the trade-in product(s) transfers to Sony’s program administrator on the date and time the trade-in product(s) is received by the program administrator.
3. Leased Product: The promotion is available for new lease agreements entered into between a reseller and you if the following conditions are met: The sales invoice submitted with the claim must list the leasing services as the item being sold (e.g. for lease of a Sony VAIO® Professional VGN-BX 540, 560 or 570 series notebook, applicable (date) through (date) and a copy of the lease must be attached to the sales agreement; Both the new lease unit and the trade-in product(s) must be eligible product(s). New lease product must be a VAIO® Professional VGN-BX 540, 560 or 570 series notebook. Eligible lease trade-in is defined as a working condition Windows based system. Qualifying Notebook product requirements: 1. This offer is valid only for trade-in notebook computers that are complete and in good working condition. Market Velocity will determine whether a trade in notebook computer is in sufficient working condition to qualify for the rebate and will notify the customer. Market Velocity's decision shall be final.
2. Each Trade-in notebook computer that uses a Microsoft® Windows® operating system must be returned with all appropriate manuals, power cords, batteries, and with a valid Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity for the Windows operating system installed on the notebook. If any of these items are missing when received by Market Velocity, Sony shall have the right to refuse to pay the rebate amount.
3. If Trade-in notebook has a non-working battery, $25 will be deducted from rebate value. Removing Data from Your Current Product: You agree to remove all data from your current product before shipping it. See "Removing and Saving Data" on our website if you need assistance (sony.tradeups.com). By sending Sony your product, you agree to release them from any claim as to the product, the data stored in such product, or any information on any media used in conjunction with the product and which you send to Sony, or for such data's security, integrity, confidentiality, disclosure or use. Sony will not be responsible for securing, protecting, keeping secret or otherwise managing any form of data or information that is stored on or otherwise contained in any product that you send to Sony (including any computer hard drive, ROM, CD-ROM, disk or other storage media of any form). You bear sole responsibility for removing or securing such data, or for transferring it to a medium under your continuing control. When packaging your device, be sure to include your appropriate operation system software on CD or diskette (if the original product was received with such CD or diskette), the Windows Operating System Certificate of Authenticity, end-user license agreements and manuals.
If your system was shipped with a restore CD, each of the above items may be on the restore CD, and not packaged separately.

Please ensure you include any documentation and accessories that originally was shipped with your device, these items could include: power supply, keyboard, mouse, battery and connection cables.
Failure to include these items may impact the value of your trade (if your trade has a quoted value in excess of $300 ($500 for Dell computer)) or make your trade ineligible for the promotion. Releasing Rights to Your Traded Product You must own the right, title, and interest in any and all items you seek to sell through the Sony Trade-in program. Such items, or the sale and shipment of such items, must not violate any applicable laws, statutes, ordinances, or regulations including export laws. You are responsible for complying with any and all such laws. Any items you seek to sell through the site using Sony's services: (1) shall not to your knowledge infringe on third party intellectual property rights (including copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets or other proprietary rights), (2) shall not be counterfeit, stolen, or fraudulent. Fitness for Sale You must own the right, title, and interest in any and all items you seek to sell through the Sony Trade-in program. Such items, or the sale and shipment of such items, must not violate any applicable laws, statutes, ordinances, or regulations including export laws. You are responsible for complying with any and all such laws. Misrepresented Product To receive your rebate check, you must accurately state your current product's condition. Market Velocity will perform an inspection upon receipt of your product. If the product's condition differs materially from that which you described, Sony reserves the right to re-price your transaction quote using the same condition parameters originally available to you. The trade-in may not meet the working condition minimum requirement for this promotion. You agree to state product conditions accurately and to the best of your ability based on the guidelines posted on this site. Packing and shipping recommendations should be followed in order to avoid possible damage or loss in transit. You are responsible for any damages that may occur to your product while in transit if you do not follow packing and shipping recommendations. "Excellent" condition means that the product is in excellent working condition and needs no refurbishment. "Good" condition means that the body of this product has only minor blemishes (ie., smudges, ink marks, dents, or scratches) and the product has no technical problems (ie., makes noises, runs slowly, missing pieces, etc.). "Poor" condition means that the product has no major technical problems, it does turn on, and is in working condition, the product operates on battery as well as AC power and the product does have cosmetic defects. "Poor" condition is the minimum acceptable condition for acceptance with this promotion. Reseller involvement: 1. Resellers may submit claims on behalf of their end-user customer by following the same process outlined above.
2. Sony will not compensate resellers for discounts that exceed the applicable promotion trade-in value per unit. If the trade-in value exceeds $300 ($500 for a Dell Trade -in; the reseller will be paid the full trade-in value. Sony® VAIO® Professional Notebook "Go Pro 2" Program is an end-user customer trade-in promotion and the entire rebate must be passed on from the reseller to the end-user customer.
3. Resellers must submit to Market Velocity the trade-in product(s) that was provided by the end-user customer. Reseller may not substitute other trade-in product(s) or submit trade-in product(s) not owned by the applicable end-user customer. General Term and Conditions: 1. This promotion is a one-for-one trade only. You must trade-in one qualifying notebook for a rebate towards the purchase/lease of one eligible new Sony VAIO® Professional VGN-BX 540,560 or 570 series notebooks.
2. A non-working trade-in notebook will be returned at customer request, and no rebate will be paid. If Trade-in notebook has a non-working battery, $25 will be deducted from the rebate value.
3. Submitting false claims for promotion benefits may make you ineligible for future participation in Sony promotional programs and may subject you to civil liability or criminal prosecution. Submitting an inaccurate list of trade-in products(s) will disqualify the claim and may disqualify you from future Sony trade-in promotions.
4. Sony and Market Velocity reserve the right to request additional information from you at their discretion.

8. Sony is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, misdirected, illegible, incomplete or postage-due claims/requests or for any printing, human, fax, computer or other errors. Nonconforming submissions will not be processed.
9. All documentation submitted for this promotion becomes the property of Sony and will not be returned unless the product is determined to be ineligible for the promotion after inspection process.
10. Offer not transferable.
11. All decisions by Sony or its program administrator are final.
Sony Trade-in is administered for Sony customers by Market Velocity, Inc., an independent third party. Sony is not involved in the transaction between Market Velocity, Inc. and Sony customers. Any and all transactions conducted on this site are solely the responsibility of Market Velocity, Inc. and such visitors. Redistribution and Recycling of Products Once you ship your current product, Sony’s program administrator will be solely responsible for ensuring that this product is re-distributed and/or recycled in accordance with applicable Environmental Protection Agency regulations. Transmission Errors Sony makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all information that you receive in relation to your traded product. In the event of typographical errors, technical inaccuracies, or product pricing errors or omissions, Sony reserves the right to correct the error within seven calendar days of the trade. If Sony corrects the error, Sony will provide you with the following options: (1) to proceed with the transaction based on the corrected information, or (2) to cancel your transaction, in which case we will promptly send your product back whenever possible or replace it with like product (i.e. similar make, model).
THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CALIFORNIA LAW, AND NO CONFLICT OF LAWS OR PROVISIONS OF ANY JURISDICTION WILL APPLY TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
