For those that got in on this "deal", I received what I thought was a defective unit and contacted graveyardmall and got the following response:

"We are about to email everyone who purchased one of these units. Turns out that many of them may be counterfeit. We have contacted Jabra for help in investigating this matter. I have credited your charge card for the cost of the order plus an extra $5.00 we would appreciate it if you could return the item to us. Very sorry about the hassle this may have caused."

Kinda blows to wait 2 weeks only to get a defective unit, but at least they are refunding our money.

I have the REAL unit, and have used for about 6 months.

Light, easy to use and SMALL!

So so call quality, picks up a lot of wind and traffic noise, difficult to use in my Tahoe on the hwy. Better in my wifes lexus 470.

The earpiece that holds it on your ear is flimsy, the new ones ship with 3. Mine rounded out the hold last month, have been using it, and then to my pocket, till last week. It went through the washer and dryer and is now Tango Uniform.

I will not buy another to replace it, for the $90 I paid, could get 3 of the excellent Cardo units I have used before. Bigger but better sound quality.

thanks!

Mine turned out to be fake too --> told by Jabra to take off the rubber ring/washer around the earpiece. If there is no writing under that piece, then it is a counterfeit. Not to mention they didn't construct the cradle correctly and the stupid thing doesnt fit in. Lots of call noise too and the earpiece just looks shoddy (the blue blinky light seems crooked). Will call them tomorrow.

thanks for the reply. I think I got a fake too.

Wow, who would think there'd be much money in counterfeiting a bluetooth headset? Mine is at the office, will have to check it tomorrow. Seems likely that if "some" of the stock at Graveyard mall was counterfeit, probably the entire batch is...

Sigh. So much for owning a sexy, hi-tech bluetooth set up. Also, I checked Pricegrabber just to be sure, and they don't have any $5 review rebates on the counterfeit Jabra headset.

Just got off the phone with graveyard. The blinky light shouldn't be clear and the ear piece shouldn't be mesh. They will be refunding me $85 or something in that neighborhood and asked for me to send the counterfeit back (as soon as the funds clear). I guess they're treating this fiasco nicely.

Now I'm scared. I bought one yesterday or the day before at Shnoop.com its a deal a day site. they had it for $60 total!!! Once I get it will remove the rubber ring and hope for the best.

Great, I just realized that the one I bought off of eBay is one of these. It's a pain in the rear to fit in the charging station, has the mesh cover on the earpiece, and the clear connection light.

I emailed the guy and hopefully he'll do something about it. I had no idea knockoff BT headsets could be so profitable.

Found on eBay reviews:

I am writing this guide to inform those who are planning to buy and also help those who have purchased a Jabra JX10 bluetooth headset.

I have been searching on eBay and other online stores for a low priced Jabra JX10 bluetooth headset. Based on my research, I have found lower prices here on eBay. I was planning to buy one here on eBay but I decided to check first the feedback of those eBay sellers who were selling them. I have read some complaints of their buyers who said that the Jabra JX10 they have received were counterfeit or fake.

Fear of buying a fake one, I called the Jabra technical support to ask on how to distinguish counterfeit Jabra JX10. I told them that I have seen black color Jabra JX10 on eBay but I have only seen silver one on their website. They told me that they do not have black color Jabra JX10 but they are planning to release one in the future. So unless I see a black one on their website, all black Jabra JX10 that I see now are all counterfeit or fake. They also told me that the retail price of Jabra JX10 is $180 so if I see one that costs $70 below, it might probably be a fake one. They advised me to purchase it on local stores to ensure that it is genuine.

There is an eBay review by rsimonoff about Jabra JX10. He mentioned that the real JX10 can be recognized by removing the rubber ring on the ear piece, and locating the Jabra ID code, and CE certification symbol.

Since I cannot give here links outside eBay... those who want to see pictures of the real Jabra JX10, send me a message and I will give you the link to the website who has posted pictures of the real Jabra JX10. To those who have more questions on Jabra JX10, I advice you to call the Jabra technical support. Their number is posted on their website under product support.

WE HAVE ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT EVERYONE WHO PURCHASED ONE OF THESE UNITS FROM US BUT HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM SEVERAL. WE HAVE CONTACTED JABRA WITH SOME CONCERN AND BELIEVE MANY OF THE HEADSET SOLD DURING THIS SALE TO BE COUNTERFEIT. IF YOU PURCHASED OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO PURCHASED ONE OF THESE UNITS FROM US, PLEASE EMAIL IN TO CUSTOMERSERVICE@graveyardmall.com TO TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE.

Kudos to graveyardmall on this one, sounds like they're making it right.

Great service, wish more companies were like that.

wow, first time seeing company selling fake stuff and ask for recalls. That makes me look stupid. it's like you want to call and screw them up but you can't b/c they act like that they don't know too.

I dont think graveyardmall.com knew they were fake, if thats what you mean. They really dont sell cell phone headsets so it probably was a shock to them that someone would go through this much effort to fake one. I must admit I was fooled too, but the quality just sucked. I give graveyardmall credit though for making this right, and in the future I am sure they will be more careful...

Wrote an email to graveyardmall again after calling and confirming that I was on their list of people to contact and being promised that I would be contacted and credited. Still have not heard back from them and have not received a credit.
