Best Buy B&M currently has a sale on the Canon Powershot SD700/IS for $399.99. But there is an in-store coupon for 10% off a single item or 12% off if you have a Best Buy Credit Card or Reward Zone Card.
You can get it for $359 right now through Amazon (linked) with free shipping and no tax for me in Colorado. Looks like tax in NY and NJ as it's actually coming from Adorama Camera. I'd be paying about $380 with taxes if I walked down the street and bought one from BB. So maybe if you're in state without sales tax this would be better, and you would have it now versus having to wait for shipping.
If you decide to push button on this great camera, remember to buy a decent screen protector for the LCD. It scratches easily. Otherwise, its a great buy! Decent movie capability, too!

Definitely better deals online but some people have the impulse buy mentality and might want this right away. Some people might also want to pull the trigger on an extended warranty plan. It's $59.99 for 4 years at the store. Plus there is a deal at the store right now for an extra battery for $20 if you buy it with the camera. Not the original Canon but from Digipower. I don't know the exact model number.

and not to jump waaaaay off-topic, but are there any suggestions for protecting an lcd/plasma tv from little kids and grubby fingers?

Decent movie capability, too!For my SD550, I used Clarivue screen protectors (www.clarivue.com or e'bay). They're cheap, comes with 2 per package, they're not the sticky kind (uses static cling but sticks very well), thick and durable, fits perfectly, reduces glare, and I could hardly tell that there's a protector on the camera.

my dinky christmas present Kodak CX6200 just went TU. I mainly need it to take pics for eBay selling (jewelry, need close ups) and the pups. I have $120.00 credit at Amazon. Does this sound like something that would fit the bill for me? Thanks zag
I actually picked this up baby to upgrade from my SD400 which is going on eBay soon. I have to say it's a great performer! Very fast startup. Sharp pictures. Great focusing system and a very intelligent flash that stays off when it should. I was kind of tempted to buy the Nikon S6 with WiFi and for $50 cheaper but I tried it a bit and the performance wasn't even comparable.

Does anyone know if the entire purchase for the camera has to be made on the BB Credit Card? I have a couple hundred in GC's, and would like to apply it to this purchase, and charge the remainder on the card.
Yes, you can. I did this earlier today. I used the 12% coupon and $300 in gift cards, plus my BestBuy credit card for 0% interest. My wife wanted me to buy the extended warranty so I did. Plus, I have the 12 months to pay this off which will be super easy since it's only a little over $100.

Does anyone know what size SD cards this can take up to? I looked in the manual, but all I saw was a chart with comparisons and the highest it went was 512MB. I would like to buy a 2GB card. Will this work for this camera?
