This Caribou coffee must be something verrrry special or it is just very expensive. Their prices range from $10.99 to $15.99 per pound. With the freebie, you're still paying at least $8.25 per pound. Go to Costco and buy Kirkland - it is made by Starbucks and is about half the price of this stuff.
Yes, of course they are expensive due to name brand as well as you already knew that. Starbucks coffee are expensive, too. I post them for others who want this or not. So no big deal.
Any word if Caribou is any good? If it's *$ quality, I'll pass...if it's Peet's quality, I'll try it..but Peet's is a little cheaper (this deal notwithstanding).

Cosumer reports did a coffee comparison (Dec 2004) of 41 major coffees and Caribou came in first (beating Starbucks, Peet's, etc.). I've been waiting to give it a try..and just got 4 pounds! Thanks OP!
I tried a bag of Caribou, bought @ Target a while back. Costs about a buck more than SB, not impressed with the taste. I guess value is in the tastebuds of the FWer.

That was the reason I tried it. Found it at Sam's Club. I wonder if it works out to be cheaper at Sam's? Anyways, I roast coffee from green coffee beans, and have tried many varieties from all over the world. Have tried and tried, but have never been able to beat Caribou for taste. Hands down the best coffee readily available at a reasonable price. AND the Consumer Reports tasters seem to think so too.
