I spent all that time putting not interested on loads of threads. And now it is gone.
Seriously, what the hell?
When you make a change like on the top of the page and everyone hates it, you keep it. Yet this time you made something useful, I use it, and you take it away, losing all of my input.
I'll be glad to see it back, but that is a real PITA (won't spell it out) that I'll have to do it again. |

There is one user that floats through the forums spreading red everywhere for no valid reason other than to fill some hole in his life. Many know exactly who that is. Looks like he will be back in business, since the staff is doing nothing to correct the behavior. It is pretty amazing that one user can continue to muck things up for so many others. I'd give anything to be able to set him to "ignore" and never be frustrated by him again. |

and what purpose is that? that you can post NEG NEG NEG and never give a reason why? theres too many kiddies and snobs that post RED and neg for no good reason. many vbulletins that use rep points (a system many here requested) require that any negative points be accompanied by a reason so that you can get a flavor of WHY theres a Neg. Red shouldnt be handed out without reason and that happens all too often here these days.
id like to see a better rating system here because the current one isnt very useful, but i dont watch colored flags to decide on deals anyway, i actually read the threads, research and then decide for myself if a deal is good or not for me

Concur with the rollback. While not enthralled by having good posts downgraded by morons because of personnal bias and ignorance of why a post might be valuable to others, the star thinggy wasn't cutting it. I guess we're back to the jungle - Darwinian and brutal but REAL. |

Note that we never did hear a reason why it was changed in the first place.
My guess is they felt that sometimes sudden change can bring new ideas and fresh perspectives. Looks like it worked.

Well put.
It would actually be wonderful to be able to ignore ratings of individual users, and have them not count to the overall red/green flag that you see - in addition to ignoring their posts entirely. |

If you read all the posts in last 24 hours, most people agree this is not a problem at all. If it is hot deal, it will get enough green to appear as good deal. Just like you see in last 24 hours, making any unnecessary change is going to hurt what we have. The best system is for the community to self regulate and we are doing a pretty good job until they broke the system and now unfix it. |

That's an EXCELLENT idea!! I think that would be great because I think we all know who that person is and would LOVE to ignore them! |

yes i have, and if you read my messages in the last 24 hours, youd see i dont entirely agree. i think the quality of fatwallet ratings and postings (not deal posts but members contributions to threads) has deteriorated over the last couple years. theres a very unattrative herd mentality going around, and so I no longer read many replies or pay attention to red/green flags. I read the threads and decide for myself if a deal is any good or not and I know most logical intelligent users do the same...
+1 to rating & user ignore feature - we really need this here!!
i'd like to see a better ratings system implemented but i havent seen one yet that works very well in most forum communities because they are too open to abuse and workarounds as has already been pointed out by most users here. I do hope the FW team does find and implement one sooner or later... |

Too bad you won't admit that removing the user's For Sale forum was also a mistake. I spend a lot more of my time on Anandtech now than on Fat Wallet. |
