The C320 sold by Amazon ($309.99) still lists the AC wall adapter as being "In the box".
Link
"In the Box: StreetPilot c320 receiver, Vehicle suction cup mount w/12-volt adapter, PC/USB interface cable, A/C power adapter, 128 MB SD memory card, Setup guide"
garmin site says C320 Package Includes: * StreetPilot c320 * City Navigator NT North America or Europe DVD with full unlock * 128 MB SD memory card * SD memory card slot * Vehicle suction cup mount with 12-volt adapter* * Setup guide
Optional Accessories: * Faceplates (5 pack) * Dash mount * Carrying case (deluxe) * GA-27C remote GPS antenna * AC power adapter

I wonder if you ordered one from Amazon and it didn't have the adapter, would they make good on it and send one free? |

Humor me while I ask a dumb question: Why is an AC adaptor needed? Do you program this by bringing inside to a computer? Doesn't it have batteries for that? |

Yeah, can someone tell us why the AC adaptor is needed? Thanks. |

The AC adaptor is recommended for use when loading maps to the unit from your computer. You have to use a computer to load the maps to the unit. It can take a long time to load the maps and may deplete the battery and screw up the upload. Alternately, I've heard you can just use an SD card reader to load the maps directly to the card. This would make the AC adaptor pretty much unnecessary, but I've never tried it. |

As far as I can tell, when you sync the USB to the program, it charges or powers the unit. So if you wanted to charge it, plug it into a usb port. When I disconnected the cable, it said it was switching to battery mode and to click here if it was ok or it would power off in 30 secs. |

Local Costco doesn't carry this unit - had to order mine online. Thought some might want to know.

FYI: No unit on the marked will do that. That data does not come from any GPS satellite. Mihaid;

you don't need ac adaptor. As others have said, the unit charges itself via USB cable or in the windshield mount cradle. |

I read an C320/330 review which said initially Garmin used to ship an AC adaptor with the 320 but stopped this after June 2005. Amazon's product description is outdated. |

I ordered my C320 in August from BuyDig.com and I did get an AC Adaptor. The only thing I've used it for so far is to charge the battery fully prior to installing the maps the first time. As I recall the directions suggested you do this, even though the unit should charge from the USB connection when loading maps. I haven't used the AC adaptor since then. The only time I can think of ever using it again would be if I was going to use the unit repeatedly in a scenario where I didn't have a lighter plug in a vehicle (ATV, motorcycle, etc.). If you're not planning on doing this I would not worry about whether or not you get the AC Adaptor. Frankly, I'm not surprised it sounds like Garmin decided to omit it. |

I did notice that they list as a feature: Data card will not hold complete contents of DVD
Thats a great feature as I was worried they were going to send me too big of a data card.

If anybody is looking for a good SD card to go with this then look at Zipzoomfly. They have a very fast 2GB card for only $19.99 AR. I know that is more than is needed for the Garmin but this is cheaper than most 1GB cards and much faster.

Yes, to hold the whole map completely, you need the bigger card, otherwise is part of it. |

You have to go back and reread my post about this "feature" with a tone of sarcasm! |

This is the one I bought with good results. The card holds all of NA and Canada, with around a gig left. It takes a long time to load the maps, mine took overnight basically, but now I'm done so no need to hassle with this again. My friend has a GPS that doesn't have expandable memory, and he can only load 1 state at a time. Bummer for him. So far so good, I love the unit!
Also, I didn't realize from the ads that it has a rechargeable battery inside. I don't know how long it works, but it gets powered by the USB when its hooked to your computer, and by the cigarette lighter when you have it hooked up to that. |

Well, I just got mine. No AC adaptor but no big deal there.
Mine did not come with any instructions other than a quick start guide. It came with the suction mount and another disk like object. I have no idea what that's for. Also, where is the POI loader and how do you use it? Mine came with only one disk and it doesn't appear to be on it.
Edit: downloaded the POI Loader from Garmin's site. |

technically he's correct. Traffic information does NOT come from the GPS satellites. |

some of you might find this link useful...
Old c320 Thread
fyi, I bought this unit and it is a really good value. Only thing I didn't like about it was the power cable was not removeable from the window mount. I wound up buying the c340 mount via eBay which has a removeable power cord. I consistently got 6+ hours on a single charge. v8 maps just came out for this too in case your model arrives with v6 or v7 maps. |

the round disc is to stick the suction mount to in case you want to mount to the dash vs. the window. Very difficult if not impossible to remove, so make sure you stick it where you want it.
and here is the manual: c320 manual(s) |
