I signed up a few weeks ago and still haven't used GCO. I wonder if I buy something from Buy.com now would I get a total of $25 off $30 ($5 Citi card bonus + $10 off $30 + this $10 off $10). That would be sweet!
You only will get ONE $10 off at a time. Use your GCO first with the $10 off $30 and the Citi deal, then do this one.
I am still waiting on my Citi bonus and I did that the day it was first posted here.

Even though I have always hate Paypal(after they screw up many of my purchases-5 out of~100), I sign up for the $20 Paypal, anyway after 3 purchases using GoogleCheck out. Let the competition begin
I still use Paypal but only pay by my credit card so I can use the protection that PP never has. PP warned me after a couple charge backs but I don't care they can cancel my account anytime they want. There's a new kid in town, not fully there yet but getting there.

If I sign up now, do I have to purchase something now, or can I just have the 10 sitting in my account until I'm ready to make a purchase. New to this whole google check out thing...
Once they stop giving me free money, why would I use them? If they start working with eBay, maybe...?

07 christmas will be a google monopoly. I love google to be on the top, I wish google comes out with a new version of online auction as well, so that eBay would be out of the market by 07.

eBay have already satrted rejecting google checkout payment options at eBay. In the next few months we will be hearing about many lawsuites filed by thousands of customers about this eBay monopoly.( They can not reject other payment methods) Canucklehead said: Once they stop giving me free money, why would I use them? Personally, I prefer to have my entire shopping history at one place, instead of scattered around different websites. Even after they stop giving free money, I'd surely use google checkout whenever it's available. Safer to keep your credit card information with google instead of eCost or Buy.com.

We had enough with paypal/eBay its time for them to go down the hill.
The only reason I have'nt signed up is because it looks like they keep your cc info. I'd rather enter my card number at each transaction than have it in their database ready for a hacker to come along.
I just wanted to relay an experience I just had. I recently placed an order for an external HD at Buy.com. I've ordered from them many times before and I've never had a problem. They had this offer for $10 off if you use google checkout. So I figured what the heck. I placed the order and a couple of days later, I received an e-mail from google telling me that Buy.com cancelled my order. They didn't tell me why they cancelled the order. I called Buy.com and found out that it was google that cancelled my order. To make matters worse, the price had gone up by $20 since I placed the order, and Buy.com wouldn't honor the price when I placed my order. They said I have to order on-line at the current price. I e-mailed google, I tried calling them, but have run into nothing but dead ends with them. Good luck trying to find a human to talk to at google. I will NEVER use google checkout again. This was a few weeks ago and I still have no idea why my order was cancelled, (I have excellent credit). Never heard from them except with form letters blaming Buy.com. YEMV

It's Buy.com lying, I have 3 ordered cancelled due to this credit card problem, but all the others go through.

I've also had a bad experience with google checkout combined with Buy.com. A month ago today I placed a Buy.com order with some cds/books, and after 2 days my credit card was charged by google checkout. After a week (my order was supposed to ship in 2 days), my order wasn't shipped even though my credit card was charged. After sending out some emails, it turns out that google hadn't authorized my payment to Buy.com. I tried to cancel the order, and now, 3 weeks later, the order still isn't cancelled and my money hasn't been refunded.

I second that. I've had Buy.com shamelessly lie to me and not keep their promises many times in my long history of shopping with them. Never the case with google checkout though.
It sounds like a google checkout/Buy.com combination problem. Seems some of you out there are OK with google checkout at other sites, and I've never had problems with Buy.com before. I'm still not using google check out though. Talking to a person is near impossible. I've had similar problems with setting up business information on google. A lot of red tape and no warm blooded entities to deal with.
DisciplineHedge said: So you can't use this if you've already used google checkout (ie. the $10 off $30)?
I've used Google checkout before, but this deal seems to have worked for me. I did have to enter a new credit card that isn't already in the database, but it says that I'm able to get $10 now. I'm assuming I have to use that particular credit card though... we'll see. I'm waiting for The Sports Authority 25% to kick-in before I try it
Consider yourself lucky if you never had a problem with Buy.com previously. If it wasn't for the new google deals I wouldn't be dealing with Buy.com at all. I had sworn then off ages ago after they screwed up one order after another. I still won't drop any serious money with them.
