Really? What $200 GPS has bluetooth?
I paid $246 for mine from CompUSA and then the Rebate will come through so I am looking at pre-rebate cost. I have seen some for $299 - $329 with bluetooth. |

Hi all - sorry for the stupid question, but why would you want bluetooth in a GPS? (I found this forum on Google, so if I'm out of touch, please forgive me...)
Thanks!

I am not an expert on this but one of the things you can do with bluetooth is to pair the GPS with your cell phone. this allows you to answer the call, and use GPS's speaker to communicate. there are others things possible, but someone with more knowledge may answer your questions. |

I pulled the cab of TCMP .81 Beta RC1 off of my Treo and it installs fine on the c310x. I uploaded a copy at the link below for anyone interested. This copy has the AAC plugin included and will run along side .72 and previous versions. If you don't want both, you will have to uninstall the old version as this installs in a new directory. Once you install, you will notice an icon in your programs menu called "Player" rather than "TCPMP". Obviously, you need the hack to run this, but I thought I would mention it anyways. Enjoy!
Download TCPMP .81 Beta RC1

I've already done it to mine.
I tried the hack but I can not find Utils folder under My Flash disk. What Version of the MioMap you have. I have Version 3.2 instead of V3 show on the site(I think this is the problem)
Any body have this problem?
I have 3.2 of the MioMap, but I did not have the issue with no utils folder. When you run the "Unlock-C510-Mioskins.cab from the \\My Flash Disk\\Miomap\\Miomap directory, you should get a popup asking where to install. Look at the bottom of page 6 of the French PDF install file included in the zip. I know it's French, but it gives screenshots. You will see where it asks you where to install and it shows \\My Flash Disk\\Utils. Do you remember seeing this step? If so, you needed to make sure you hit ENTER on the virtual keyboard.
Thank You It work now
I have to create that folder first in Mio window explorer in order to work. It won't work if I create the folder in Window explorer. strange |

hehe you'll have to pirate the maps somewhere else. You just have to search harder. |

I am thinking people got confused with gps standalone unit vs gps receiver. for a gps receiver, bluetooth is a key point; for a gps standalone unit(like this one), what are you going to use bluetooth? why do not you ask your dash cd player have a bluetooth? and your tv, your dvd.... to have? Thanks! Bluetooth on standalone GPS is useful for us to use it as GPS receiver with other devices. I can attach it to my laptop ,my PocketPC/Palm or even my Cellphone as a Receiver and use any software I want (TomTom for example). |

i'm novice to handhelds and Win CE. i just got my C310x wanted to hack it. Could some one please provide the detailed on steps on how to do it. I've installed ActiveSync on my laptop, and connected C310 to it via USB. Somehow ActiveSync doesn't recognize the device. Also installed the Mio Transfer software from the installation DVD. So far haven't changed anything on C310, nor able to access the file system on it. appreciate your help. Also i don't have SD card in handy. So the only way i could proceed i guess is by connecting device directly to laptop.

Look in this thread to check for all the discussion about modifying MIO. We really need to talk about MIO in one thread instead of everyone asking the same question again and again in different threads. |

Setup a thread in Deal Discussion or Computers? For sure you should be heading to the www.gpspassion.com forums to discuss your Mio's there.
