This is more or less their standard sale price and even then it's not a good deal.

Oh, I know they're expensive but if you like their stuff, this is one of their better deals. I just picked one up for myself.

OS is not popular on FW dude... And for a good reason.

They think FW users are cheats, scammers, thieves who prey on pricing errors and deals that are too good to be true... and those are the good parts. Then they have 2 trolls slide in and condemn folks on these forms. Sad, very sad.

I have purchased from them twice when they've had some truly hot deals. But after that, never again. I don't care to be unsulted by a company who takes my money.

Semarin, you just beat me to it while finding the old thread. Yup, read that and you'll never give OS a dime.

I bought this last week and I had the sirloins last night. Small portions, but very tasty. At this price, I'd have to say that the value is very good. You can get quite a few decent meals out of this for around $75. When I think about how much you can spend on pure garbage at Mickey D's or BK, this is not bad at all. Definitely go for it. Just don't go for it for the free knives and cutting board. I didn't know such poor cutlery even existed. Bon apetite!

Read through this thread as to why FW members don't really care to do business with a company like this anymore.

I have no complaints about their quality, but as it has been pointed out in the threads referenced - you can do as good or better at Costco or the local butcher shop or higher-end market. And that won't be frozen.

Something along the lines of they had a deal once and a lot of people here took advantage of it, and then they cancelled all the orders, but worse than that they called us some names, like baby killers or something like that, for taking advantage of THEIR deal!

Not only is Omaha a disreputable business, the November 2004 edition of Money magazine says in reference to supermarket beef vs. mail order beef:

"A handful of well-established mail-order vendors can do considerably better for you-with one major exception...Omaha Steaks...While Omaha pioneered the category, it's not a premium vendor. The beef is a mix of prime and choice, with no way of you to know which you'll be receiving, and the steaks are wet-aged. Also, Omaha ships its meat frozen."

IMHO, you'll find beef just as good as Omaha and at a much better price if you shop for filets at your local high quality grocer.

Thanks for linking that thread from the past.

OS has these "deals" constantly. None of them are really deals, per se. The meat is alright, nothing spectacular, and the whole "how much would this cost you if you ate it at a restaurant" arguement is valid, but I can get the same prices (and usually better) just shopping at the local market, butcher, or dare I say it ... discount food chain.

We used to order from them pretty much every other month. We'd also order from them around this time of year for Holiday gifts to business associates and family out of state.

After reading that thread long ago we stopped all together. Haven't ordered a single potato or cube of meat from them.

One person doesn't effect a business enough for them to feel it but if a handful of people backed away from them maybe they took notice. I hope the peons in that thread that worked for OS got fired for mouthing off as reps for the company and soiling their image.

you know what was actually pretty good was montana legends when they had that steakburger deal - those were some of the best burgers i've ever had. i think it was either 6 or 8 for $9.99 or something like that... haven't seen too much on them lately though.

yea, i doubt i'll ever order from omaha again. unless they have some insane deal that we can all take advantage of, of course

"<< We have been laughing at you people all of yesterday as well as today. How smart is a group that actually commits fraud and then publishes what they have been doing. All of your customer service calls are follwed by reading your comments and then deleting your orders. It been a hoot! Keep it up, we need more laughs!!"

There's really nothing else to say.

never buy OS unless you want to waste your dough...lousy company..ridiculous prices.

I order from them once every 30 to 45 days or so and have always been happy with the results.

Figure out how many pounds of meat you're geting for your money and you'll shop elsewhere...if you're wise
