I just checked the Sprint Sero website and they now have nights and weekends starting at 7 PM. I signed up last week and activated my phone on Thursday for nights and weekends at 9 PM. Does anyone with any experience dealing with Sprint think there is any possibility I can get them to switch me to 7 PM or was it just bad timing on my part and I have to deal with it? I am going to try and call them tomorrow. Maybe if I threaten to cancel the will hook me up.

UPDATE

I just called Sprint and they kept offering me 7 PM nights and weekends for $5 a month. So then I asked for employee relations and again they offered me 7 PM for $5. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was on hold for a few minutes and then the customer service girl jumped back on the line and told me that she had reviewed the new plan and that she could switch me over to 7 PM on my next billing cycle or she could prorate this current bill and add the new feature right now. I opted for them to wait for my next billing cycle. I figured it would be easier on both them and me and also if something got messed up I would have some time to get it straightened out before my next bill. I haven't got confimation on my web account yet so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

The only other thing is that the cost of going over goes up to 20 cents a minute from 10. I shouldn't have a problem staying under my limit so no big deal for me.

I guess persistence is the key and never accept the answer "NO" from someone who is not empowered to say "YES"!!!

UPDATE #2

I emailed Sprint E-care and asked them if they could confirm my order. The replied that my account has indeed been changed to 7 PM nights and weekends when my bill flips over next month. So looks like I am good to go.

I got SERO about 2 months ago, and have been calling several times to get my n/w moved to 7pm and failed. Please let me know if you have any success.

If its under the 14 day cancel for any reason period, you should be able to get it. Outside of that I don't think so.

I called yesterday after I saw a sprint commercial on tv about n/w starting @ 7pm. Got declined by CSR (she wanted $5/ month extra). Will try again later.

No, although I was able to get 6pm nights and a free 500 SMS package added to my account.

I did, too. Just email them from your billing login. It might take a few (I got lucky, it only took me one), but they will probably give it to you.

When I signed up for SERO last year they had n/w at 6pm. Better check and make sure they didn't change me to 7 or 9pm.

You need to get a referral from a Sprint.com email address. These are pretty easy to find and so far as I'm aware nobody questions whether a referral was actually made. Here's an address you can probably use.

So far as getting 6pm NW, I would go through ecare which is the email way to contact support. You need to log into your Sprint account first, then there will be an option to email Sprint with a question.

Don't beg -- rather use a short two paragraph format:

#1 - ask for some correction or verification on your account--

ex. -- "can you change my caller ID name" or "I noticed that when I first set up my phone that a screen showed picture mail was $5/mo but I'm pretty sure that my plan allows it for free - can you check that for me".

#2 - as for the freebie

"I was speaking with my cousin who said that she recently was referred to SERO as well and is now getting 6pm NW. Can you please add the free 6pm NW option to my account as well."

Ya'll are way behind. These deals have been discussed a ton on SprintUsers.com.

The best way is to ask for freebies through e-mail.

Don't threaten to cancel or they will say, fine and leave you. They are looking for good customers, paying their bills on time not ones who are constantly threatening they are sitting on the fence. What you can do is say, "a friend also with Sprint has this feature... I would also like this added to my account". The threads on SUsers will be more than enough to get you started. I got both my free roaming and free 500 SMS via e-mail.

I have 1250 AT, Unl. N&W @ 7, Powervision, Free 500 SMS, Free Roaming for about $46/month.

Get the most freebies you can while you are still within your 30 day return period. This is when they seem to grant the concessions easiest.

Indeed it is 7pm now as standard- mine is 9pm but got 6pm for two years, so i think ill leave it alone till my contract runs out.

Thanks for the heads up, I just sent out an email trying to get the nights and weekends adjusted and my text messages adjusted too. I'm currently paying the $5 for 300 texts, and getting 9pm N&W rates. Hopefully they'll be nice and switch it for me since I just joined not too long ago.

They actually WANT you to switch. With the 7 PM also comes a couple of other changes: overage minutes are now $0.20 a minute (instead of $0.10 it was before) and for $5 you now only get 30 additional minutes (was 50 before).

You also would have to renew your 2 year contract.

yes, you can your employee discount, although some CSR may claim it's not compatible with SERO, keep trying.

Yes you can add your employee discounts to Sero and also ask them thru e-care for other discounts. I have two phones with the SERO plans. I have my 16% plus $10 off for good customer disc. + 500 texts free and 6pm n/w. Signed up last year. Best Darn plan I have ever had!!!!! I love having free TV, GPS and alot of other things and not ever pay extra. SWEET<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border=0>

EDIT: To the OP, call the retentions department and explain the situation, you should be able to get 7 PM N/W very easily.

But when I called back the next day, they didn't admitted it and another supervisor jumped out and said there was no way she could track what the other CSR told me last time. . . Filed BBB and nothing happened either. . . Darn sprint

7PM nights

Sprint told me it has to be on one of the phones listed in the new SERO phone list (in Latke's link), if you are on SERO and have a model not on the list in LATKE's link, they say no to 7PM nights

I was wondering when they were going to change the SERO n/w to match the regular sprint site.

When making changes, write down names, extensions, all details, etc. and then ask for an email confirmation. I always follow up with an email to ecare verifying any changes. That way you have in for future use if needed.
I had a few issues with Sprint before following this procedure, but none since.

Just called up retentions and got them to add the 7PM feature at no aditional cost. She insisted I call the customer service dept next time I needed help with something like this, but I just told her they wanted me to pay $5, and it was offered at no additional charge on the SERO website.

my aunt tried to switch to this from nextel unsuccessfully.. then got the idea to go to my aparment while she tried again and got angry at me cause she was on hold for 2 hours, claiming that its my fault cause I told her about sero.

sprint has the worst customer service ever, get transferred to 8 different departments only to hold for an hour and hangup only so you can start the process over again.

im sure i would have looked up a more direct number if it was my own phone but i wasnt going to stress myself out over her phone.

Does anyone know if it's true that existing customers who want to re-up for 2-years cannot get their existing number ported over with a SERO plan?
