How is their call quality? I never had problems with Reliance even though they charge lot more. Just wanted to know the experience of others with Bharati before jumping on to it...
I registered and am having trouble getting my cell or home phone registered on thir website so that it does not prompt me for a pin.
Also what was weird is that they provide you with a random number for your account ID. Weird !

"Fine print"
"Double Talktime Value " during a subscriber's initial purchase of pre-paid minutes during registration for the Airtel CallHome Service . For example, if a subscriber registers for the Airtel CallHome Service and upon registration initially purchases $50.00 of pre-paid minutes, such subscriber will be provided with a one-time award of an additional $50.00 of pre-paid minutes; and "Double Talktime value" for the subscriber's first recharge of their account on or before Jan. 31st , 2007 . " First recharge " means the first time a subscriber chooses to purchase additional prepaid minutes following the subscriber's initial purchase of prepaid minutes during his or her registration for the Airtel CallHome Service. For example, if a subscriber who purchased an initial allotment of pre-paid minutes during registration for the Airtel CallHome Service chooses to purchase (or "recharge" their account) with $50.00 of additional pre-paid minutes, such subscriber will be provided with a one-time award of an additional $50.00 of pre-paid minutes for the first recharge only. Please note that the Promotion ends on Jan.7th, 2007 and the "double talktime value" for the subscriber's first recharge ends on Jan.31st, 2007 for only those subscribers who have registered within the promotion period, i.e., on or before 7th Jan. 2007 (till 12 pm Eastern Standard Time).
I hate Cheap india calling card posts because I think they should be in one thread. But I would give OP a pass because this IS a breakthru in price from a reputed company.

lowratevoip.com offers india for ~6.6-8c/min (mobile/landline). I have used the service, quality is great. Also, Pakistan is 1.3c/min (lowest ever rate!)

Looks like contradicting information to me. First line says, the $50 pre-paid minutes will be provided with the initial purchase and the second line explains about first recharge. I am not sure when we will get the double talktime value, initial or recharge?

I am not affiliated with lowvoiprate in any way!
This offer from Airtel is for land based phone and not dialing from PC

No, I didn't knew about it. How is the call quality on the Tata network???
I have been using this for about a month now. Initially, there was problem with busy lines. Currently, I am happy with it. Also, they do not have a 800 number as far as I know. With unlimited long distance in my phone, I don't care.

I have been using Startec for 4 months now 7.9c a minute to India. This service has been great. Billing is no problem whatsoever.
My experience with startec: disappointing. And they charged me the minimum for 6 months after I left their service. Had to call their customer service atleast 10 times and revert charges on the CC by disputing. Stay away.
BTW, thanks for the info, OP.

It seemed to me that you get doubled for both the initial purchase and recharge, if they happen by the Jan 7th date.

I tried to register but the system kept rejecting my Visa.
Called the guys at 877-247-5150. Their servers are under maint. (being close to midnight in india I guess). The CSR said the system should be back up in another 2 hours or so.

Due to bad site, they might loose customers. I almost made it to the last point and then had to enter password thrice and with their wierd password rules. After somehow doing that it said credit card failed. I said GET LOST AIRTEL.
hello , just login to yr relianceindiacall account, and click on (spend a minute and gain ten minute audio conferencing) and put what ever you want in 10 question and reliance will credit 10 minute to yr account right away,,good luck to all its work only once i tried 3 times but got only 10 minute worth talk time...
