looks like a misprint (on the HDDVD drive, seeing as almost none of the other 360 accessories are discounted) but hey, worth a shot. Green for you op!

Yeah, definetly a misprint. But I would recommend anyone who wants one to try and pricematch. (what is there to lose?) I have the HD DVD drive and it is AWESOME! -J

I wish imageshack wasn't so popular. People use it to host stuff like this, and it always goes down. I wish the OP's post was a little more informative...
he said he stepped out of OD and found a flier... could be for any store. the fact that he says "L.A/Socal only" might point to a store found in the area only rather than an offer that's localized
Hey, since I am a "new member" I didn't know that imageshack uploads would expire so quickly. Give me a break! So if any veteran here would suggest a better upload site, please share your knowledge.
The store is named Game Play, and they have three locations in the L.A. area
Other than that, pm me and I will send the original jpeg scan if you are interested in trying to price match with a higher quality copy.
Here are the phone numbers for GamePlay and SpinFusion(apparently same store under different name):
GP @ Venice and Sepulveda: 310-842-7776 GP @ Long Beach: 562-421-6880 SF @ I405/I10 juncture: 310-838-7776
So hope that helps if the images expire again. And no, I do not work for this store!

I tried the Venice store and the LBC store and both said they're sold out. They put me on a list and said they'd call me if they get any more in. Not sure if it'll happen but it's worth a try. Thanks for the info regardless if I get one or not!

Any reports from the field in PriceMatching?
Anyone find the original ad? (Will be easier to use than a home reprint)

ehhh...actually made the trip out to culver city BB to try to PM...unfortunately, they were out of the hd-dvd drive when I got there Maybe they saw the ad and hid all their drives? hahaha, that'd be a slick move. I tried to PM at my local BB and CC earlier but they rejected because Gameplay was not a "local retailer." Lady at my local BB said to try to PM at a BB that was closer to Gameplay which is why I made the trip. T'was a day full of disappointments indeed.
truematic said: Hope this helps someone...check out this flyer that I found on my car this evening after I stepped out of OfficeD.
Page 1 shows the DS Lites and all the sale and store information that you need - apparently the sale is for the 25th(gone), 31st, and Jan. 1st.
Page 2 shows the actual front page, which contains the Xbox 360 HD DVD player for $99.
Dont' see any mention of rebates or other extra work.
I'm not in the market for either of these, but looks green to me...Happy Hunting!

ummm...
The spot that you have highlighted (which, admittedly, looks like it has the shadow of a "1" in it) is where the "$" sign would be if the price had actually been $199 not $99. If what you were implying were true, you would see a shadow of a "$", not a "1" in that spot.
I think this is just an optical illusion. If he were using a bitmap editor to fudge this, he would just have done a copy-shiftToRight-paste, not some sort of blurring that would have left a shadow of the "1".

I called into gameplay yesterday, they're actually selling it at this price. Too bad they're out of stock.

I agree however, all you have to do is shift the whole price. Not hard at all. Then cover up with the same color and noise.

Funny, the area in front of the other two prices look the similar...were they were retouched too? Dun think so..all 3 areas look the same.

Do they have ads you can grab in the store? Pricematching a print out will be tough.

Went to the Venice Blvd. Gameplay, and they didn't have it in stock. Asked if it was a price mistake and he said no, they sold out within minutes on XMAS day.
Drove over to the Circuit City in Culver City for a Pricematch. CC called them to verify it was the price for a new, not used unit. They confirmed it was for a new one, and the Manager OK'd the PM for an OTD price of 97.37!

No go at Van Nuys Circuit City "it's not a local retailer"
Bastards
No go at North Hollywood Sears "we don't carry that"

Nice move Wolfie! It's good to see a strong West Coast contingent on FW!
Boy, you hear all kinds of things on FW! I have better things to do than sit here and mislead the forum that helps me. Maybe this says more about the Damademan3 than anything else...only YOU can decide to trust again, my friend...
Awesome deal if you can get it. I live on the east coast so how can i get this deal? Almost as hot as the Sears price mistake a few months ago on the 360 hard drive for $14.99. Some poeple PM'd @CC and got em for like $6 no lie. I only got WalMart to sell me 5 at the $14.99 still awesome deal like buying a premium for $60 can't beat that. I maxed out my 360 harddrive with downloads, and i just picked up a 1TB drive for $450 to back up my 360+comp+ipods.

I bought my Xbox 360 Premium $199.95 at MicroCenter in Tustin CA ($399.99 - $100.00 MIR - $100.00 Visa application Bonus = $199.99) AND did a pricematch at Best Buy for 2 HD DVD drives for $99.95 each
Thats a total of $299.90 for Xbox 360 PREMIUM and HD DVD drive ...... I am soooo happy..... and an extra HD DVD Drive for a friend ($99.95).
I called to confirm the price before doing the pricematch at BB, (they said they were out but were getting more tomorrow, I couldn't wait so I went to BB with the printout (BLACK/WHITE) of both pages of the flyer, BB called and confirmed the price, presto I got 100.00 discount on each HDDVD drive)
of course plus sales tax.
This is Legit

Anyone who got a price match at a major retailor like BB, CC, etc mind scanning a receipt I'd be forever grateful. I live in Jax Fl tried the PM and noone would do it because the store isn't local. They did however say if I could get a receipt from a CC, BB, they would match it here. You can block out your personal info. Thanks, send to inbox72@comcast.net
