My local Lowe's (S. NJ) has all snow throwers/blowers for 20% off. The sign said the sale was good until the first week in February. I also got 12 months 0% financing on my Lowe's card. This may be regional. We've had a very mild winter so far, so I'm sure sales have been slow.

I asked at the customer service desk if I could use my new movers 10% coupon on top, and was told no, but at check-out, the extra 10% also came off.

Troy-Bilt 5.5HP 24" Snow Thrower reg. $599 on sale for $431.28 - 10% movers coupon = $431.28.

Bring on the snow!

I doubt you can find a snow blower within 100 miles of Denver.

Sears keeps advertising final clearance on Lawn mowers and tractors. Not sure how good the deals are.

Can't even find snow shovels

You are lucky that you got the 10% off--our Lowes is diligent about not letting you get two discounts--you can't even purchase a regular sale item with a 10% off coupon.

We bought that snowblower last year in South Jersey, used it one and moved to Hotlanta. It was great the one time we used it.

Great deal!

They'd better be giving them away on the east coast this year. Mid-January and no snow yet! (D.C.)

besides your disclaimer of YMMV, please put the store location in the headline. this is NOT for everyone by any means whatsoever.

For some odd reason, I couldn't find any snow blowers in any of the Low3s near me. I am in South Florida, BTW.

None in Austin TX -- and we are expecting what could be the worst snowfall in 26 years this weekend. If we get over 1.4 inches we'd smash that mark.

Good in Downriver Michigan area

Bring on the snow!

The 20% off alone brings it to about $480 but Wallyworld sells a 5.5HP for $499 anyway. Home Depot sells a 5.5HP cheaper too. I'm going to wait a little and see if they go cheaper. No major snow in the 10 day forecast.

Thanks OP, got the Husqvarna we've had an eye on all season. Last one in the store!

Where was this?

In the Deptford, NJ store they have plenty of the Troy-Bilts. We haven't had a flake of snow or even cold enough temperatures to get people to think about a snow blower.

I'm curious to see what kind of prices they have if we don't get any snow by February. I was going to wait for a forcast of significant snowfall before going out and buying one, but with my luck, they'd be sold out when I got there. My driveway in my new house is way too long to get by without a serious snow blower.

Warrington, PA - there were quite a few troybilts in there too. We are in the same situation, new house, scary driveway. We would pretty much be unable to leave the house if there were any measureable snowfall at all. I'm sure they'll drop further over the next few weeks, but figured it's a fair price and now we're covered.

How good this deal is when it's a mid-winter and we have not a single snow flake hitting the ground yet?

so what, if you don't use the snowblower this year, for sure you'll use it next year and the year after, etc.

one of those things thats much better to have and not use than not have and need.

some years i use mine only once or twice. a few years ago we had 17 snowfalls. so it averages out. all i know is when we get big snowfalls 1-2 FEET i'm real glad i have one.

fyi - a 2 stage / 5HP / 22 inch is big enough for most homeowners. plus smaller is easier to handle. any more than 5HP is overkill unless you need to clear a lot of area. plus you need room to store these and more than 5HP takes up a good bit of room in the garage.

Local Home Depot (RI) is also doing the 20% off, add that to some of the 20% off coupons floating around and a killer deal.

Cant beat the deal last year (50% off and used the 20% coupon)

Mine is on will-call awaiting a future price drop, why take it home till it snows anyways?? If it reduces in price, I get the new price

Anyone see them drop lower than 20% yet?
It is very cold but no snow in NYC...waiting for 30 or 50% off

Still at 20% off at Lowe's and HD. The Lowe's sign said sale ends FEB 8. See what happens tomorrow.

Thanks,
I will stop in tomorrow to see if they make it a sweeter deal.

Mike

They are almost all gone here. I live in Upstate NY and 20 minutes north of me they got 5 feet of snow in the past 4 days. Amazing, I have maybe 2 feet, most of which has been on the ground for 2 weeks, and yet drive 20 minutes away and they have piles upon piles of it.

ill wait till they are 50% off
