Just took one in local store, that seems the only way you can get it.

They had 2 in the store. I bought one and just went back and picked up the other for a friend who's out of town. You must purchase in store to use the 12% coupon I believe. An earlier post mentioned that you may be able to order in the store and still use the coupon. I think the ad said not available in all store, may be ordered. You'll have to double check I don't have it right in front of me. Good Luck.

which one did you guys get, Silver or black? Rebel XT doesn't have IS processor like XTi, does it?

I just got the last Canon Rebel XT from our local Staples. Used the 12% discount as well. Do the esteemed FW members think that I should get the 2 year extra warranty on this camera from Staples for $43 ( $49 - 12% ) ?

To take advantage of the 12%, you have to do it in store.
I just bought one with a 2 -yr warranty. Was also able to stack a 20 off 150 cpn on top of it. Good deal.

I am very happy. I was able to buy one in stock at Sewell NJ and used a $30 off coupon and the 12% off coupon

our loacl Staples had the rebel on sale for $649 on clearance and than could apply the 12% and mail in rebate, so it made the deal much better. So I guess one can try and price macth to that, our loacl store was in sioux city IA.

I noticed that my camera does not have camera 2 menue when I pushed the menu button.
Even under camera 1, only three showed up: "Quality, Red eye, and beep" while "AF mode, Metering mode, ISO" do not show up. Any one knows what the probelm is? Thanks.

I went 4 Staples in my area. Finally scored one at last Staples I visited. The manager was still very nice after I politely refused his offer of xti bag and warrant. He even asked me what kind of coupon I have. I told him 12% off, I believe if I told him I didn't have any, he would give some % off for me because he complaint that Xt took the spot for his Xtis in stock. He was really glad that I bought that last Xt... Also he grabbed one bag of Staples basic gloss paper and Staples photo plus paper for me @1.98 each, then gave cashier 2 $3 off coupon to make the whole offer better. So I got my Rebel XT, Staples photo plus and Staples basic gloss paper for $617.15 after tax before $100 MIR... But one thing, it can NOT submit to Canon rebates anymore because both require original UPC. What a nice trip for a lil old style and good enough SLR!

Turn the mode dial to P mode and you will see all.

That option is only available on the upper side of the dial(TV, AV, etc.) The lower side(with the pics) is for point and shoot, basically it presets everything for you.
