What in the world are you talking about? There is no Canon rebate for the XT. Not since the last promotion which expired 6 months ago.
slimwantsfat said:which one did you guys get, Silver or black? Rebel XT doesn't have IS processor like XTi, does it?
The XTi doesn't have an IS processor. That is if you are meaning Image Stabilization for IS.

maybe it was a 10% discount b/c it was a display. if that's the case...just ask for the 10% when getting rung up. |

It also does not flush toilets, open garage doors, or mute nagging wives/girlfriends.
Honestly, did you not do your research? |

Go to luminous landscape and read some of the articles there. There are a ton of excellent tutorials. You can also look at some of the tutorials available on Canon site. If you still think you miss swivel LCD and movie mode, you are not ready for DSLR. No offence intended. |

$699 - $50IR - $100MIR - 12% ($77.88) + Tax 7% ($45.43) = $516.55
Good deal. Now I just gotta decide if I can actually afford this... |

The deal worked for me. They clerk found 6 in the Corvalis, Oregon store and had one shipped to my home. They accepted the 12% friends and family with no problem. Last word I heard, "Nice deal on this camera".
Sweet.

Is it possible to get additional canon rebate?
I didn't see the camera listed in canon's rebate form anyway...

I bought this camera yesterday, thanks to this post, and I bought the 2yr plan for $50 (minus the 12%). I'll have to check into this. Thanks. |

I got the Xt for Christmas. Black one to be exact. The XTI has sensor cleaning on it but neither have Image stabilization. You buy the add on lens for that. I just got an older model (2 years old) IS lens for mine. They aren't cheap!!!!! I've been very happy with mine & they do take pics fast. I had an Olympus & that took to long to write to SM. |

On my receipt, items shows as "Staples CAMERA ACC". SKU shows as 718103033787 and price is $19.50. Kit was purchased on Sunday.
In order for the service plan to register properly, the camera AND service plan NEEDS to be on the same receipt.
This was verified at two Staples stores in Southern California, CA.
GLENDALE, CA 818-240-2133 and VAN NUYS, CA 818-908-2360
They had a couple of those red bubble-wrapped packages with "Staples TECHNICAL SUPPORT & PROTECTION PLAN KIT - INCLUDES TWO YEAR PROTECTION PLAN" near the camera displays with the yellow CLEARANCE sticker, "was $49.99, now $19.50"
Does anyone know if STAPLE's protection plan EXTENDS/ADDS to the manufacturer's 1-yr warranty or does it replace it? In other words, is my warranty now 2-yrs or 3-yrs? |
