That's the UPC number, not the SKU. The SKU should be a 6 digit number. If you find it, can you please post it. Thanks. |

Tuckeg,
On my sales receipt, it only shows the '718103033787' UPC code for my red bubble wrapped "Staples TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND PROTECTION PLAN KIT", which includes the 2-yr ESP for the camera.
HOWEVER, also included in my package is a registration form, which shows the "$200-UP DIGITAL CAMERAS 2-YR PLAN, RETAIL PRICE $49.99" SKU as 522157.
I think Staples sells the 2-YR plan in TWO forms. One is through this "Staples TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND PROTECTION PLAN KIT" and the other is by word-of-mouth from the sales associate.
It should be noted that this is an old kit, because they had coupons for $3 off Staples paper and free Snapfish photos, both coupons expired in 12/2006.
I would think you would want to call Staples stores and ask about the 718103033787 UPC product and to register your 2-yr service plan through this kit. I suspect that the 522157 SKU is still priced at $49.99. |

This was verified at two Staples stores in Southern California, CA.
GLENDALE, CA 818-240-2133 and VAN NUYS, CA 818-908-2360
They had a couple of those red bubble-wrapped packages with "Staples TECHNICAL SUPPORT & PROTECTION PLAN KIT - INCLUDES TWO YEAR PROTECTION PLAN" near the camera displays with the yellow CLEARANCE sticker, "was $49.99, now $19.50"
Does anyone know if STAPLE's protection plan EXTENDS/ADDS to the manufacturer's 1-yr warranty or does it replace it? In other words, is my warranty now 2-yrs or 3-yrs? 3 years total.
According to my package on the warranty it "provides coverage for 2-years from the date of purchase". So it looks like the warranty is only 2-years total. Note this is on the retail package "Staples Technical Support and Protection Plan Kit". |

Thanks tscfx. I checked the brochure and the word-of-mouth brochure shows the same SKU number as the one you have for the kit. Since they scan by UPC to get the price, that explains the difference. I tried to check the UPC but they were not able to seach for that (or didn't know how).Since my CC doubles warranties up to one extra year, it doesn't make sense for me to purchase this even if I could find it.
I did pick up the XT so thanks OP. Used FF, $20 off $75, teachers reward (5% for me) and CC rewards so net will be $460 incl. tax. This replaces my last XT that I sold last month in Africa. Now I have to decide if I want to replace the 100-400mm IS and the 10-22mm that I also sold. Even I was able to take some decent widlife shots with the XT Lilac-breasted Roller |

The manager said they are running a 10% off price on clearanace cameras and apparently rebel xt is clearanced. He did this even before I handed him the 12% coupon. who am I to refuse? |
