Costco has 100 discount no coupon need on the Nautilus Select Tech 520 dumbells. They are the exact same as the Bowflex since they are the same company just rebranded. 289.99 for both dumbbells and stand.
Well Weider and Pro-form are the exact same company. I have a Proform treadmill and can not speak to highly of the quality of their products. Although I can not speak on the quality of that particular product.
This is the cheapest price I've ever seen on the weights plus stand. Typical sale on these is retail for the weights ($400) and stand is free. Sometimes you can find a 10-20% coupon to toss on top, but that still doesn't bring you down to the Costco price.
Good deal.

This is a great price - I bought these for a bit less, with no stand, from Overstock.com last year. If Costco had carried them then, I'd have certainly gone with them instead for their excellent warranty.
Incidentally, I know it's not rocket science, but they do work great, and they're very sturdy.
I know the Bowflex/Nautilus ones are the more popular product, but has anyone had any particularly negative experiences with the Weider set?
I like this deal, but know nothing about the quality. That looks like a nice adjustable weight bench, tho!

If you're in the market for this, it is a GREAT deal. I bought them refurbished from Overstock with a coupon for about 265. With the stand, it's a great deal to get it new, from Costco, at $289.99
If this deal was going on then, it wouldve been a good reason to get a Costco membership.

I got the last box in my local costco, there was two yesterday while I went home and think about it, and today lunch only 1 left. Some lady was calling and telling her husband, as soon as she walked off, in with the orange cart I go. $389+tax - 100 = $324 out the door.
Ok, the stand is slightly different from what you see on Amazon and Nautilus website, it's a little simpler one but I don't see how it is any worse, the height and angle is great. It is easy to assemble. It came with the secrets of 4 steps DVD as well which was a surprise.
I am aware of the weider deal at costco.com as well, basically the bench is free on that one, looks like same bench on WalMart website around $80. I cannot find anything about the weider dumbbells however. I studied the pictures of the weider and decided to go with the Nautilus/bowflex brand based on more popular reviews, even though the weider you get the free bench.. but I want to get the SelectTech bench later because it has a wheel to put it away which is helpful since I work out in the garage.
I am very happy with the Nautilus set, the weights have a slight rattle but it doesn't affect the workout at all, nothing that would throw your wrist off. At my store the discount is good till 1/23 (today). The box is about 150lbs. I got home and unpacked the contents from the hatch.
One more thing Versus the weider set just from looking from the pictures, looks like about 8 plates on each side of the dumbbell in the picture, I guess you would use it in 5 lb increments. (assuming balanced) I like the Nautilus set has 2.5 lb increment before 25lbs. For my Fiancee who lifts VERY light, this would make it much more feasable to use in terms of weight selection.

I don't know why but I just found that funny that they actually had to refurbish a weight set. What could they possibly have done during the "refurbishing" process......add another pound or two to make sure they were the correct weight??

Reading about this set, it's the most sophisticated dumbbells I've ever seen. You "dial" the weight you desire to lift. When you lift the dumbbell out of the cradle, disks remain behind in the cradle, so that the weight is correct. A mechanical tumbler system locks in the disks that must stay on the bar. So I can easily imagine some tuning is required for the tumbler mechanism. Also, a generous return policy may account for some "refurbs".

This is a set targetted for much lighter lifting, only goes to 20 lbs or so.

also want to know if anyone has any experience with the the Weider product.I bought the weider set about a month and a half ago from costco.com and have been using it daily. For $299 it's not a bad product, but here are my main gripes: 1) it only goes down to 10 lbs, which is a problem for my wife on some of her exercises. 2) the bench isn't very good build quality. Sure, you have to assemble it yourself, so it could be partly my fault, but the seat sits a little crooked to one side. Not a big problem but it gets to my anal-retentive self. If I had to do it again, I would get these (I still might return these and get them anyway if I can find a good price): ironmaster quick lock dumbells
Someone said the others rattle a little bit, and so do these.

I just bought the Wieder set from Costco. Had I read this comment 10 minutes earlier, I might have changed my mind. Oh well, I just want to stay in basic shape, so this should suit me fine.

I'm probably going to keep these because they're a great bang for the buck. That ironmaster set that I linked to is double the price.

For the seat maybe you can shim it with a couple of washers and maybe a longer bolt.
The Iron master looks pretty good, $429? That isn't too much more than the Nautilus and claims to be able to survive drops as well, and considering it has more weight too.. but I looked at the video and you have to take off the ends and add/remove plates, adjustment is not as fast as these other dumbbells.

Doing chest presses with the weider ones is a little scary with 50 lbs over your head and hearing them rattle when pressed together. Having them go up to 75 lbs (with the ability to upgrade to 120!) is what really sold me though. If I bought them, I would buy the bench too, which takes it to $598, plus shipping of around $80 or so. Bummer...
I've been looking for a deal on these. Thanks OP. I was also thinking of buying the Bowflex machine that they offer at Costco. Anyone have any reviews on using one? I have been lifting free weights for years but where I live now is not very close to the gym and I'm really more geared to setting a workout room up in my house.
I did some research on these a few months ago. People are generally happy, but report that the bumbells are fragile. One or two drops can brake the weight adjusting mechanism. I don't intentially drop my dumbells, but things happen sometimes. I did read several rave reviews on 'powerblocks', but they are even more expensive than Nautilus and out of my price range for now.
That said, if you buy from Costco, it shouldn't be an issue thanks to their return policy...

That's a good price with the stand. I've seen the dumbells priced for 300 bucks without the stand when I waas looking for an adjustable set. I opted to get a powerbuilder set b/c I could add weight to get the set to 90 lbs.

I have powerblocks and they are about the same price as the soloflex 50 pounders at roughly 300 bucks. I am very happy with the powerblocks - expanded my set to 90 pounds and can go up to 120 if I want later.
Here's a basic set of 45 pound dumbells for 267. http://www.allegromedical.com/personal-powerblock-set-214351.html?engine=yahooshopping&utm_source=yahooshopping&utm_medium=feed
You can always negotiate at a local specialty fitness store too - if you're good / comfortable with that. I got em to knock 15 % off when I bought mine.
*** not all sets are expandable - so if you want to add weight to your set - do your homework and buy the right set. ***

Doubt it. Powerblocks were the only set I could find about a year ago that was able to expand the weight sets. It was the sole reason I purchased them.
