Cancel the previous one and then re-register thru this new link |
Google offers private domain registration for 10$ (includes google apps). If you're planning on registering your domain as a private domain, i think the google route is much better (note: the two registrars they work with are GoDaddy and eNom) |

I would avoid Yahoo as the service is cumbersome at best. I also hate how you have to use a stupid Yahoo email address for all services and keep a credit card on file for auto billing. Their renewal rate is high too! I'm a GoDaddy Reseller and find their service to be the best of all registrars; however my Buy rate is still higher than 1and1. I have about 50 domains parked at 1and1 and while they are not as smooth to transfer out of as GoDaddy they certainly are cheap at $5.99. 1and1 offers the best value but in the hosting business.... just don't expect any hand holding if you don't know what you're doing. |
Did anyone actually use Yahoo before knocking on them? They are big enough where they shouldnt be cumbersome. They do run yahoo groups for free and I never had any problems accessing that service. Anyway, if you dont want to keep a credit card on file, buy one of those prepaid credit cards. I havent decided on who to use yet either. Each has their pros/cons. GoDaddy seems to have better reviews for domain transferring and you pay on a monthly basis if you host with them. 1and1 is cheaper but you got to pay for the whole year and stuck with them (if you host with them as well =)), on top of that I been reading quite a few where ppl are having a hard time transferring to a new host. On the other hand, 1and1 provides free private registration while GoDaddy charges extra. Might be better to just use google and pay the extra $3-4. |
yes I used yahoo. They have some limitations in their service. In other words, you get what you paid for. I am changing to GoDaddy now. |

I WAS a big 1and1 advocate BUT it's a bit of a scam with transfers. It seems it works this way. Say your domain expires in 6 months but you transfer today. They charge you today and your domain is not extended for another year until that 6 months passes. Then a year from the day you transfer they will again charge you 5.99. Again, your domain is not extended for another 6 months. |
which place offers the cheapest hosting with domain name purchase? i mean dirt cheap. |
You can try http://www.e-rice.net/ for $5 per year. And they are good. |
