seriously... i know this is fatwallet. But there's tons of people buying boxes of crap... bags of crap... whatever for $10+. At least you have somewhat idea what you're getting on this deal. Its 8 bucks. Get a grip.

I bought a pair of these on eBay about four months ago. They came in the "OEM" bag. I will bet that everyone will receive what they ordered, but I can almost guarantee that they are knock-offs. I used the eBay ones for a while. They worked, but were not that impressive compared to my cousin's sony earbuds, though the reviews said that they were supposed to sound really good. I got in on the Buy.com deal in December (2 for $19 AR) and compared them to the fake ones from eBay. Physically, they looked almost identical. The sound quality, however, was very different. The fake ones sounded tinny and lacked bass, while the real ones sounded like the online reviews stated. I bought them on eBay for like $15 shipped, so I got more ripped off than many of you. If you order with the knowledge that they're most likely crappy fakes, and don't expect much, then you won't be disappointed. Just don't think that the real creative ep-630s are crappy when you hear these, because that is not what you're going to get. The fake ones may very well be made in the same factory as the real ones, but I can guarantee that the drivers in the fake ones are not the same as the ones in the real deal. There is no comparison.

Bags of crap is bags of crap.

Counterfeit products and shill Fatwallet accounts by company employees to boost a deal has never been alright; its the principle, not the dollar amount, that has me fired up. ::sigh::

Have fun, I guess... authentic EP-630's are nice headphones, maybe you guys will buy some someday after this and see what they really sound like.

hmm...i bought a pair of sennheiser cx300's on eBay and they turned out to be knock-offs....didnt mind too much cuz i only paid about 10 bucks, but the thing that pisses me off the most is that there is this metal piece on the wire (which i have no idea what purpose it serves) that makes a loud ass sound when im walking around. I'll probly email the seller to see if they have that same crap on there; if there isn't, i wouldnt really mind paying 8 bucks for some workout buds.

I have also received a USPS tracking number in an e-mail, but not the item yet. As I promised before, I will post an update when I get the item.

Incidentally, I also ordered the
DealExtreme earphones at about the same time and received them yesterday. No offense, but those are extremely BAD in comparison with an old, old Sony MDR-20 pair I have (and I am not an audiophile at all!). I will have no problem stating the same about these EP-630 from China, if that is the case, even though I posted this deal...

It is funny how people try to judge things they never got it. Have fun guys in your exercise. Sorry but your words worth nothing before you will get this version of EP-630s in your hands. I don't think what kind of packing means too much. We will see. Thanks

Well, folks, just picked up my earphones from the post office. They came "registered mail" from Shanghai, so the mailman would not deliver them since a signature was needed and I was not home yesterday.

I just listened to "Policy of Truth" on my Dell M60 and all I can say is that they sound AWESOME. Great bass and overall sound definition (but again, as I said, I am no audiophile). Also, I had to keep the volume control on the Dell at a very low setting since the earphones are *loud*. Unfortunately my Sonys are at home so a comparison with that one will have to be done later.

I do not have access to an 'authentic' pair of EP-630 to do a physical (and sound) comparison, but I inspected the item carefully and I do not see any obvious red flags that it is a knock off (I have looked at pictures of the "real" ones on the web and they seem identical). The quality (material/workmanship) seems to be very good. Only drawback is that the cord is a J not a Y.

The bottom line for me is that for $8 shipped, I am very happy with what I got. In fact, I am ordering another one for a friend.

Thanks for posting the info. At least the company shipped something.

Those two statements contradict. Creative doesn't make the EP-630's in the "J" cord style. Google some more, and you'll see what I mean. In short, these are fake, as some people have known and said all along.

This shouldn't be a deal titled "Creative EP-630 Noise-Isolating Earphones $7.99 shipped from China" but instead should be crystal clear: "Knock-off Creative EP-630 Noise-Isolating Earphones $7.99 shipped from China"

so maybe they're good knock-offs? Could anyone with the real deal to compare it against please post a mini-review? (Not that I don't blame anyone who has the real deal for not buying it.. I probably wouldn't if I had the real thing.) It's hard to take any other review seriously since everyone has a subjective opinion on "good" and "Awesome" and "bad"... Thanks a bunch for everyone trying to rate them though

This way, at least if your definition of good/bad is different from mine, we'll at least have a decent idea if they sound equal to or worse than the real EP-630. But I'm not holding my breath.. oh well.

sounds good so far. Thanks for reporting back. Like I've said before, I really don't care if they're Authentic as long as they sound good and better than a $8 pair from target.

Any more reviews? I am tempted but need to be persuaded! Thanks.

mine arrived yesterday as someone said above, registered shipping. So now I have to drive over to the post office to pick it up. I'll let you know after I pick it up.

Thx! Glad I didn't jump on this deal. I ordered another pair from Buy.com.

Real sen cx300 doesn't have that crappy metal piece on the wire.

nod. Real EP-630 doesn't have J cord. maybe what he got is a fake sen CX300. without comparison with real one, it's hard to know what is missed.
I found this old review in Amazon.. the history of cx 300, and EP 630. Give a reason why so many people want real EP 630.
Sennheiser CX 300 series was formerly launch into the professional musician market as Sennheiser IE4 In-Ear Monitor.

Sennheiser IE4 sold at ~150 US Dollar (Suggested Retail Price). As a competitor of Etymotic Er6 and Shure E3c.

Following the product's success in the professional market now it is time to harvest from the vast consumer market.

So the marketing description of this product now change from "the high accuracy reproducing of the sound" into the new hype "the bass driven sound".
Very common marketing trick.

Sennheiser IE4 was a rebranding of the highly acclaim "Sharp MD33".
Sharp MD33 is one of the most succesfull IEM in the world.
It also described as a "giant killer".

After it got wide reputation around the world Sharp MD 33 was rebranded into Creative ep630 (which can be found in Asia) and Sennheiser IE4 (which goes directly to the most demanding professional musicians market.

Sound of this Sennheiser/ Sharp/ Creative IEM is solid and very clear.
Bass is decent, mid and high are details.

It need less maintenance comparing with Etymotic or Shure since it cleverly use metal grills instead of direct filter.
Once a month scrap your earwax out of the metal grill is enough to keep this decent IEM working for years.

Silicone ear tips are interchangeable with Sony's ex series ear tips.
If you want to do some experiment you can try Shure's ear tip on them.
Even somebody have suggested Shure's Ultra Soft Flex Sleeve (PA749M) on this IEM but I would like to suggest Shure's PA757M Flex Sleeves instead. (Please change the size according to your ear size)

With Shure PA757M Flex Sleeve this Sharp/ Creative/ Sennheiser IEM sounds as if the sound stage become expanded without deterioration in sound quality.

If you live in US this Sennheiser IEM is worth your money. And sound quality is much better than many expensive IEM.</blockquote></blockquote>

I own both the EP-630 and the CX-300S, and although they look the same, the 630 sounds a bit better and the ear pieces were more "rubbery" and comfortable. I bought the 300S from Amazon in March for $40 and the 630 for $25 from Buy.com in July. The 300S earbuds feel a little more substatial while the 630's feel more hollow. The Creative logo also looks a bit smeared on the earpiece.

Isn't everything manufactured in China these days? So what if some factory worker decides to take about 20 headsets off the line and sell them on eBay. He doesn't have the fancy packaging or the warranty card but he has the product. Don't call them knock offs or suggest you are going to get ripped off just because you bought something from China. Buying from China is the most wholesale you can get. So do you feel better buying something in packaging and paying 5X what it cost to make? Or better yet waiting for a 40% price mistake and jumping on it, so in fact you are only paying 3X the price. Get over it, its only $8.00, you can't even buy Coby headphones for that price.

the point is you don't know that for sure.

Did anybody else receive these headphones? How are they soundwise?

Dunno 'bout these, but I do have a real pair and they are awesome. Got'em @ Amazon for $28 some time ago. Also got Chinese sold "Sensheiser 300cxs,' but they never sounded as good as the EP-630s and one earpiece died after a few months.

Unlikely to find a real bargain this way, I think.
