Doesn't look too bad. I'm recommending it to my friend; however Vista is probably a bad idea unless you have 2 gigs of ram. |

i just went to order this for my friend but those monkeys at CC are very annoying!
Lucky I went with my friend. They are really like used car saleman! Try to use scare, lie, and bunch of crap to try to "force" my friend to either get their "bundle" or "warranty" package. First, that bundle cost another 100$ more what it just give u abunch of software like webroot, spy stuff....etc. When i said i pass for the offer, he keep trying to push the warranty package, which he said around $150 for 2 yr, and i forget how much for 4 years. He claimed they have me 2 laptop battery every year, and if i buy it seperately it cost $299 for each battey!!!!! When i said no, he then said the pc care package will give me installation disk for the laptop, which i won't get in the laptop, when i said there is a disc creation tool for most of the desktop it have a recovery partioion and disc creation too, he claim it only show up once when i boot the first time, and he suppose not to tell me about it !!!!! He said it is against his company law!!! what a freaking retard!
BTW, if u guy are interest in the AIO printer package and norton IS it will cost u another 150$!!! and 5 rebate. In fact i am not sure whether it is all free after all because one of the norton rebate is a 20$ upgragde rebate!? so i am not sure whether i can qualify if i don't have other software to proof. But those moneky told me only after i add up the total amount and i find i short of 20$ in rebate. I also thought i can pick my laptop up today, but they told me i need to come back tue to pick up!

This is the only little information about the Pentium Dual-core compared to Core duo
The T2050 is from the Intel Core Duo Family and has the following Specs: 1.60Ghz/2MB L2/533FSB. The T2060 is a new Processor midway between a Celeron and a Core Duo. It is called the Pentium Dual Core T2060, it is lower spec'd than the Core Duo and it runs hotter. It is almost akin to having a turbocharged Celeron. The Specs for the T2060 are: 1.60Ghz/1MB L2/533Mhz. Not all Extensions and functionality are present on this CPU, full specs will only show up when a machine is released with this CPU.
Guess it's one way to save cost and offer a cheaper laptop. Any thoughts?
yea the 1mb of cache is bad another way intel inflates the price and gives you a bad processor. Go AMD --- Its still not a bad laptop at bestbuy because you get reward points and you also get a free printer so factor that and you're lookin at a laptop at around 550 is nice with 1gb of ram. |

Went with my GF and she bought this one on Sunday, open box at Best Buy. Was $599 with a $50 GC We bought the $250 3-year warranty which we plan to return tomorrow, so they took another $100 off the computer.
So she should get it for $499 - $50 GC + Tax, TOTAL. + Reward Points. Good deal??

The pentinum duo with 1mb cache will preform the same as core duo because in order to use the 2mb cache you need to have 2gb and most wont have 2gb on a laptop |

bought this PC yesterday. It's quite slow with Vista's Aero interface. This is after uninstalling all the 'junk' software it came with. It is noticeably slower than XP based computers. Even with 2gb of RAM, it's slow. The bottlenecks are the GPU and Hard drive. The gpu is a larger bottleneck. So, if someone is interested in getting this PC, they may want to think twice about using Vista. Otherwise, you may need to disable aero.

The gpu and the 4200rpm kill it for me. Great price though. |

I'd have to agree with the poster above. It was quite slow even after uninstalling all the crap, and rebooting a few times. The touchpad was very insensitive also, so I had to max the pointer sensitivity to make it usable.
Aero was beautiful to look it, but not sure if it's worth sacrificing performance. Will have to do some tests later w/o aero and see if there's a difference. |

has anyone opened it up yet? Want to know if the T2060 is indeed a Core derived processor. I'm wondering if I can actually replace this processor with a Core Duo T2300E or C2D T7200. |

Tried this out at BB. It has moderate performance running Vista - programs open within a few seconds, windows pop up quick, however don't expect the nifty features like a moving movie preview in minimized windows or quick movement on the Media Center. Perfect for basic computing needs though. |

I got it from this thread:
New CC coupon $40 off $199 expires 1-31-07 YMMV
Credit to zhelder for the coupon: Link
I printed it in color and cut it out so it doesn't say allconnect on top and looks more legit.
