filt said:quick question on digital service...if you've got multiple tvs but not all are worth getting the digital box, are you still able to get the analog signal on tvs that are wired without a box?
++++++++++++++++
Yes, you still will be able to watch tv on your other tvs if you do not use the digital box and just hook them up to the cable. You will not have the digital features like "on Demand" or Pay for view. Hope this helps. |

I already have an account w/ comcast for cable only and pay $5 for hbo and $5 for starz. It'd be nice to get DVR for football season though.
How and when did you get HBO and Starz for $5 ? |

I saw a TV ad this morning that bashed satellite, then proceeded to offer the following for $39.95 a month (for a year):
Digital cable HBO DVR HD
I would assume the DVR is an HD one, but assuming is dangerous with Comcast.
I'm seriously considering dropping DISH and going for this deal. DISH doesn't offer NESN-HD and I gotta watch the Sox! I'd really like 2 DVR's though, one could even be SD. I guess I need to call and see if they're gonna whack me the full $15 a month they usually get for that. |

I saw the same ad. Went to the local Comcast office (SF Bay Area). They said they know nothing about this promotion. While I was talking to the guy at the counter, one of the TVs on the wall started showing the ad! he still said there is nothing he can do because the promotion does not show up in the "system".

I called em'. After 10 minutes of "looking" for the offer she finally came back with the following:
1)Digital Starter 2)HBO 3)DVR
She said no mention of HD was on her screen, and as far as she knew it would be $5 extra. It is an offer for DISH subscribers, and they may try and take some of your DBS equipment when they come install.
Another digital box to get HBO on another TV would be $7.50 a month. If you want that to be a DVR the price goes up to $17.xx
Offer supposed expires June 17th. |

Can you elaborate the offer detail? It is a standard cable + Digital? How much is the final price? Thanks |

Just got off the phone with Comcast, the CSR was able to get me Digital Cable with HBO for 39.99 for a year and also 6 months of Internet for 19.99. She was very friendly. You can have an HD box for 5 dollars more, the monthly modem fee is 3 dollars. |

i don't even know if this is any good, but it seems so to me, next to the prices i had been getting. I've got HBO, Showtime, Cinemax (pretty much everything but playboy) and HSI for $114 indefinitely. I really don't want the phone service they keep trying to push me into, and it seems like they'll give it to me for free if I just give them the word. So does that sound like a good price? Comcast bills and their various promotions are simply THE most confusing things I've ever seen (esp. when every time you talk to a CSR you get a different price and a different story.) |
