I live in New Jersey and currently have their $33.00 Basic Cable service (comes with On Demand and Encore for free for 1 year). Been a Comcast customer for just 1 month. Called and asked about this promotion which they call Digital Starter Package and asked if they can drop my price to 19.95 by signing on to the program. The rep explained that the price quoted online is misguiding and that there is no basic plan currently at 19.95. What I did get out of the call was an extra digital converter (free for 1 year), HBO and Starz upgrade for 6 months. After 6 months, the service will automatically drop off. They are shipping the extra converter to me via UPS 3-day shipping. I'll know if they screw up on this when I receive my next bill. I better not get charge extra for these additions!!!

Is there anyone out there who is paying $33.00 for cable service able to get a better deal from calling Comcast at the 888-367-2830 number? By the way, the rep said, this offer is only valid for East Coast customers.
