Credit to profitone on SD
Home depot here in CT just broke price again to 30%. I just picked up the 9.5 HP Ariens 926 LE for $559. Reg Price = $1000. I use the 20% off coupon floating around SD-- cant find link...
Also had 11.5 HP Ariens for $979 minus ymmv 20%= $783
Also had 7 HP ariens for $559 minus ymmv 20%= $447

Also Had 10 HP cub cadet for $1049 minus ymmv- $839

Not sure if this is Nationwide as I was in there yesterday and they were still 20%-- the 30% happened this morning.. I read on other sites that snowblowers were up to 50% off in other regions so good luck.

I wish they WOULD go on sale here...I could use a backup...I have the attachment for my tractor, but it would be nice to have a small one for the sidewalk and parking area

Perfect for the snowstorm in the New England area.

I need one my cousin in Central NY that has 80"+ of snow over the past ten days.

Any found in MI? We just got our 2ft of white stuff last night.

I think maybe this is what you're looking for.

I called my local SE Michigan store. I was told that most models are still at 20% off. They said they had an MTD 5.5 HP model for 30% off or $279. The first real local snowfall occurred this week so they may not have much inceptive to drop price more yet. I was hoping we would not have more than a inch or two at a time this winter so they selection would be great once they offer them for 50%. They were offered for 50% near the end of the last winter season.

The local Despot has a ton of snowblowers, but they wouldn't take either my Lowes 20% or my HD 20% coupons. They insisted that there was no such thing as a HD 20% off coupon and the one I showed them was commonly sold on eBay and was not valid. Damn! Really had my heart set on that Ariens 926.

I only saw 3 kinds (maybe 2 each) at the Germantown, MD HD...The toro 2450(?) was 395 and the yard machines one was around 400's...I'll need to dig up the notebook where I scribbled in, but I'll enter the exact numbers ASAP

Stock has been dwindling in the New England area too once HD offered 30% off. It appears that the mid-level models have been snapped up, but I bet the Ariens model that was originally $1399 could hang around until discounts reach 50%.

I was looking at that big Ariens (11528LE) here in WI today and they would not go any more off of 20%. I could have an additional 10% if I applied for the HD card. The kid manager said no way to the 20% off coupon.

There seems to be a lot of resistance at HD to the 20% coupon for some reason. I wonder why? It might be worth trying a different HD or waiting until that manager isn't working.

It's getting late in snow blowing season, so I would imagine that they couldn't sit on these things much longer without a price cut. Then again, unlike me, didn't you guys actually get snow in WI this year?

The reason for the resistance is that the 20% coupon on SD and the cheaper ones on Feebay are counterfeit copies of last year's 20% coupon. Home Depot used to give each of its employees a $25 GC and a 10% coupon for the holidays. They changed it to no GC and a 20% coupon. Last year's coupon was widely copied and distributed and cost the company millions in lost revenue. It was the bottom quarter or so of a normal sheet of paper and measured 2" by 8". It had an expiration date of April 30, 2006. People photoshopped the year into 2007 or blanked it out entirely.

This year's coupon (and all HD coupons now) have a scannable barcode on it. Cashiers are told no barcode = no acceptance. It is about the size of a credit card and is laminated to deter copying. Go to Feebay and search for "20 depot coupon" and look at the two different items being sold. The fakes are still going for $15-25 each. The legit ones are getting $50-$70. The 20% maxes out at a $400 discount (vs $200 with a 10%) so spending $70 for a coupon to save $400 on a $2000 order is still a good deal for some people.

When someone tries to pass a fake coupon in our store we have permision to openly laugh at them. We ask them point blank "Did you get this from eBay?" and they always mumble something about "their contractor or neighbor" giving them one to use. Only one person out of 25 or so actually admitted to buying it off the Net. I tutored him in how to file a 'item not as described' claim and still gave him 10% off the order for his candor.

Ah, I didn't know that the 20% off coupons were fakes.

FWIW, I did use a 10% off HD coupon last week that had no bar code. The cashier had to call a manager, but they accepted it with no questions asked.

They were running low so I decided to buy one. looking at the small ones, they had an Ariens 520 with electric start for $420 and a Yard Machines 5.5 for $350. Decided to get the Ariens. Has 3 year warranty versus 2 for Yard Machines. Also, Yard Machines has more plastic parts that I'm afraid might get chewed up more with the chunks of ice the plow leaves.

Hoping it goes to 50% within 30 days and I can price match it down some more.

This is why Lowes gets my business rather than you guys. Customer service is #1 - laughing at them will only drive them away...

I just picked up the Ariens 5524 in Windham, CT, $490 after the 30% off. They still have about 5 or 6 of the 5524 and the 520, as well as a few Yard Machines, in case anybody's wondering. None of the more powerful Ariens models left.
