If they bring out the refills before the customer dies of old age, this is a sizzling hot deal. $12 in meat goes down pretty fast if you don't get mired in the side items.

oink oink!!taco bell is cheaper?

Man, when Don Pablo's first opened years ago, it was standing room only and 1 hour wait times.. over the years they kept changing the menu and raising prices. Now, I can go on any saturday night at anytime and get a seat amongst the many, many empty tables..

No, their AYCE Fajitas are $14.99.

It's amazing what 2 years can do. Donnie P has gone down the tubes that fast. They had an excellent menu, good portions and pricing and awesome crowds...then right after Chi-Chi's folded the slide started. The menu has been changed so many times with the prices nudged up every time. Portions have shrunk and they seem to just throw the platters together. It is sad because we were loyal to Donnie P but now we rarely go there.

Interesting posts on the Mexican chains, many have not lasted. Besides ChiChi's there was Casa Gallardo way back when (early 80's), that used to have these 48oz frozen margaritas at happy hour, then when the clamped down on drunk driving, they didn't have them any more since you could get pretty soused on just one.

The Italian chains have faired better, Olive Garden has been around forever, Carrabba's and Bertucci's are stable too. Can think of a few Mexican chains that disappeared, but not the Italian sit down ones really.

Speaking of ethnic food, did you know that General Tso in battle was really chicken?

There's also a $5 off $15 coupon in the flyer, should work with the AYCE deal

where do you find the flyer? I'm in NJ

Was in Sunday's Courier Times. Lists the following NJ locations on the flyer:

Deptford, NJ
Moorestown, NJ

also:

Whitehall Twp, PA
Easton, PA
Langhorne, PA

Newark, DE

well, I'm close to Deptford, and have the Sun Courier POST, and I don't see a flyer in my ads. BUMMER! Was gonna have a fajita-fest for dinner tonight

Still can't beat a roach coach taco truck! The ones in Oakland on International Blvd or San Francisco in the Mission District sell tacos for usually a buck each, but they're oh so good. Yes it's not AYCE, but you can't beat quality over quanity sometimes.

Lori,

You don't need any coupon for the All You Can Eat special, just for the free dip appetizer. Go have your fajita-fest. You can call the Deptford location at 856-374-3841 to verify the special.

I called and confirmed the AYCE deal at the one in Mesquite (Dallas), TX. Going there for lunch. Thanks OP!

Thanks for that! Going myself now!!

I used to live in Dayton,OH and the Don Pablos in Beavercreek was shut down by the health department once for like a month.
I ate there several times before that but never after...
I can't remember what the violations were, but they had to be pretty serious as long as they were closed.

I might go to the Langhorne DP's to give them a try again. It's been years since I went and they were really good the last time I was there, I hope they still are.

On a side note - people local to the area the OP is mentioning, if you ever find yourself in Trenton, NJ, at the corner of Greenwood and South Clinton Ave (not the best part of Trenton but definitely not the train station), there's an authentic Mexican restaurant called Las Fronteras (there's also a sign out front that says La Tortuga). Very good, filling portions and priced very well. A friend and I each had a burrito and an enchilada with rice and refried beans on the side. With tip it was about $22.

I'm going to go check the Sunday ad now - thanks OP!

Me and the familia stopped at Donnie P's today and tore up the AYCE fajitas in Deptford, NJ. Chicken was awesome, the steaks were very chewy...bit good overall.

Cybrshrk, did you try the free dip appetizer by chance? Also, were they good about bringing out 2nd's and 3rd's once you finished the first skillet of food? TIA.

All-You-Can-Eat is for Heffers!

Too bad it is not in my area...

I'm a pretty big guy 6ft 260 all fat no muscle (lol).. and thier regular combo fajitas and some chips/salsa that comes free with the meal are enough to get me STUFFED.

How the hell are you people eating 2+ platters of the stuff?? Are you skipping the tortillas?

Couldn't agree more. The one in Rochester NY is terrible.

I feel blessed to live in San Diego. I have never had good mexican food in a non-border state. From the response to this post you all must be burrito-deprived!! Mexican is my favorite and San Diego is the best, I hope you can all make it out here someday to try it.

BTW kenop- if it is all you can eat, then don't load up on the free chips and salsa, save room for the main course. If it is not all you can eat, then load up on the free chips and salsa and take the leftovers home.

Make sure you "five finger" (FAF - "free after five") one of those salsa/guac bowls on the way out, they are very handy for the house.
