I am lucky. I just bought this phone last week, ordered it over the phone from Cingular, and in the box came an extended battery and case back (instead of an extra standard battery). Well, it had a dead pixel in it, so I went and exchanged it in store, when they exchanged I checked the box contents, and the lady let me swap out the batteries so I could keep my extended battery. Well, since the phone I got in exchange for it an older IMEI, I still apply for this rebate.
jrsmooth, it took just over two weeks to get here from the time I ordered it.
Poison7fl, everyone I know that ordered the earlier models (before they started including the extended batery in the box) got two regular batteries and the little breakout box to keep the second one charging and at the ready.
I don't know about you guys but I think it's a nice change of pace to get something for nothing after a purchase. (Whether it should have been in the box to begin with is a different story!)
If you're looking to buy a Blackjack on e*Bay, beware of the scammer infested waters. Probably 80-90% of the Blackjacks listed on eBay are being sold without the extended battery BUT the sellers have applied for the free extended batteries--you won't be able to get one (they sell them off separately for around $50).
Just another reason e*Bay sucks for stuff like cell phones. Look for a listing where the seller explicitly says the phone comes with the EXTENDED battery, or else ASK before buying to see if the phone is elibible for the extended battery. (Note that the phone comes with two standard batteries, so if they say it comes with two batteries, that doesn't mean you're getting the EXTENDED battery).
