Yes, they are total junk. I tried them at the store and even the sales guys said they were not worth buying. They are almost always returned. They are made by Meade but with lower quality optics than those sold under the Meade brand name. The motorized focus is slower and harder to focus than any manual focus models as you end up going back and forth trying to get the proper focus.

I find this true of pretty much everything from Sharper Image. I used to shop there because they doubled my Discover CashBack bonus, but everything ended up in the trash 6 months later because it looked cool but wasn't.
