I bought one of these when OD offered a better version for $499 a few weeks back and it is a really nice laptop. Make sure to make it to OD on Sunday because they will likely "run out" within a day or so (their bait and switch tactic).
Shipping is usually $25-40 on laptops and no they never keep any in the store. Even the base configuration, you have to order it and it takes about 7 days or longer.
last time I ordered a Customize to order laptop from OD shipping was about $40. The base config of $399 is a bit underconfigured for me, so if I were to take all the upgrade options (1gb ram, 80gb HDD, processor upgrade, DVD burner, and Vista Premium) thats almost $200 more w/ shipping and CA sales tax it would be almost $700. Does it come w/ BrightView? Not a bad deal after the upgrades.
I am still bittered about not getting my President's day sale - They "somehow" let the order throught for local pick up but only find out there weren't any, and none within 50 miles
you walk into OD, they have computer kiosks to order items (at my local OD its by the copy and print counter). You enter the configuration code and any upgrades you want, enter your info and pay for it.

Luckily it's $400. I don't know why people add in everything to come up with a not so hot price. My $16,000 Prius wasn't such a hot deal since I had to add on that $1,000,000 house to put it in. At $1,016,000 it was only warm.
Compare the base config with the other celery m $400 laptops and this is hot.
