I though the printer could'nt be included with this deal? thats because it's( laptop)is from over seas and dosn't have at the end of the ups code a US on it.

Nope, $50 and $30 rebates are for US items, the printer one specifically lists v6000t as one of the options.

but this computer is coming from another region!, are you saying anyone who buys a v6000t can get the printer also , if so is it to late for me to get in on this?

It's comming from China... but T means CTO which all come from China... so I don't think that is a problem.

I don't think it says you have to order both at the same time on the rebate but I don't know how to order the pritner seperate.

I just looked into it and todays the last day for the buy of the printer , you have to do it cto @ Office Depot , what I don't understand is why they'll give you $80.00 back when the printer is $71.99 in the flyer ,is it more on the cto site?
my other question would be how much would it cost in delivery charges , hope its not like the laptop @ $69.00 bucks
Thanks!

i dont know if anybody noticed, but you could add the restore cd with windows vista premium for $20, without doing the windows vista premium upgrade option. I think it was $50 for the vista premium upgrade. I decided not to do either, prob just downgrade it to XP.

alert mods

I believe the printer is $79.99 on CTO but ther rebate does say "after taxes and shipping" or something so I guess it's possible they just really want to make it free and not just free plus tax.

When added to my laptop there was no additional shipping. I don't know what it would cost to ship by itself.

Probably the reason for this is that, at least from Microshaft, all Vista CD's are the same -- Home, Premium, Ultimate, etc. The only difference is in the key code you enter which chooses the options that get installed. So unless you bought the Premium upgrade and had the appropriate key for it, you couldn't install it as Premium anyway -- only as Basic using the COA stuck on the outside of the laptop.

Just for all those that were poo-pooing this deal, it turns out to be the clear
favorite at http://www.notebookreview.com/ (HP v6000t). The reviews for this model have been nothing short of excellent.

They are talking about another model HP dv6000t while this one is v6000t

If you read the reviews and the HP/Compaq forum you'll find that there is really no difference between the two in terms of build quality and components.

Granted, there are differences: lack of webcam and dedicated GPU but as far as the rest of the components, its all the same. Especially since this offer comes with imprint finish and styling included, then cosmetically there is no difference.

Can you share link...I would probably buy it as it takes 10 CDs to create the restore disc and who know how many hours

this deal gets colder and colder as newer deals come along , not even a confirmation on a delivery date yet, I would have jumped on another if my money wasn't tied up on this.

I paid a little more then the 399 and Iv'e seen a couple of deals I would have jumped on between this deal I might have added a few bucks more but I would have received more also, also this might not come for another few weeks and that would really disappointing , if you read earlier some people waited quite awhile from CTO to get theres, thats my point

Just call up HP/Compaq and tell them that the recovery disc creation failed. They'll send you a set for free.

So all I have to do is join up? What's a tour these days, 2 years? So it'll just cost me 2x$100,000 (lower military salary compared to civilian) in lost wages. So this AAFES laptop will just cost me $200,529 compared to the $470 one from this deal. Not a better deal for me.
