Is Amazon.com an authorized FUJIFILM dealer or reseller? Rebate clearly states they must be to qualify. Finding V10 on Fuji website and then click to buy does not list Amazon.com. Does include CompUSA, Best Buy, Sears and J&R (which makes me think Amazon is a no go). What do you guys think?

Hi- looks like Fuji just started offering a $30 rebate for the F10 or Z1 - I had to fill out a form to get it but I though I might spare someone else the hassle

Be patient, it is a few clicks and a PITA to reach the PDF file.
What is the P.O. Box ?

I bought this camera for $150 shipped 2 months ago and its a damm good deal. You can't find another small size 3" LCD camera for anywhere near this price.

Not sure about Amazon.com being an authorized reseller. I emailed Fuji at the address found on Fuji's Lame Rebate Site and they replied quickly stating that Newegg.com is an authorized reseller. You might wanna go that route to make sure.

i use auto mode, all the pictures take at night time indoor with flash are set at iso 640, that came out pretty clear and sharp, even though the cam doesn't have focus assist light, pro reviews say from iso 800 on this camera has more noise than f20 and f30 though

The small print about how the rebate can't be posted online without "written permission" of Fuji concerns me. Where are we supposed to get the rebate from? Will it be legit if I just print it out? Oh, and "To register you product online" is a typo.
main gimmicks are the LCD size and the smallish size of the camera. Main bad points were ergonomics with hand placement, no AF assist lamp (although it seemed to focus relatively well), minimal manual controls (we're tlaking white balance even not just aperture/shutter),and worse ISO performance than the F20 and F30. I think there's a reason it fell in price so quickly down to the F20 range.... the F20 is probably a better choice for a little more.

Well worse ISO performance than the F20 is still a lot better than most of the competition. Indoor and medium/low light photography is still very good IMHO.
I have an F31 and got the V10 for my less technical brother. The huge LCD is quite good, I would not call it a gimmick. Ergonomics, while not great (make sure you have the wriststrap on) are not uncomfortable. The camera is beautifully finished, the metal case and controls feel expensive, and it is significantly smaller, more pocketable than the F20.
I think it a great choice for the average user, particularly those who like a slick design. At $250 far too expensive. At $137 a killer deal, and outrageous if the rebate comes through. I am pleased.

come on now Even the mildly serious camera shopper knows it's 'all' gimmicks. Cameras are bought by joe shmo often based on megapixels, the size of the LCD, or the color/shape of the body rather than photo quality and low light performance. I wasn't dissing the camera just pointing out the things that inspire people to buy it.
I mean the F30 is considered pretty much the best pocketable camera due mainly to it's low light performance. That's it's 'gimmick' that Fuji pushes. You know very well that a good chunk of consumers would buy the F40fd over it just based on the number of megapixels though........
Comparing it to say the Canon A710 though... the Canon has twice the zoom, takes conversion lenses, and has image stabilization. It's main gimmicks are the image stabilization and the conversion lenses, but a huge chunk of consumers will probably buy a sd### series with more megapixels and maybe a sleeker body anyway.
Just guessing - about how many average pictures would you say can be stored on the 16MB XD Picture Card?
Is Fuji the only camera that uses the XD Picture card? What do you think about it's availability in the future?
Thank You

.
I think the review on dcresource specifically gives you an estimate somewhere of number of images. The other companies using xD are olympus and I believe at least some HPs... maybe not anymore. Unless you're buying an SLR you want to stay away from either of those companies for digital cameras though..... fuji, canon, and sony generally offer much better quality often at a similar price.
Thanks, great deal. I'm STILL debating about this one. I just picked up two cameras from Sears today as open box so I guess I should pass. I'm going to have one camera for every day of the week soon!
I am really tempted on this camera, BUT the idea that I am tied to a special picture card, and battery just gets to me.
I can see both just sky rocket in price,or just be hard to find in the future.
So I am going to gather strength, and pass on this one.

On the bottom of the rebate form it says to go to fujifilmrebates.com and pre-qualify. There are no rebates listed at the fuji site. I sent them an email asking if this is real. Will try also to call their 800-800-3854 # later.

The special picture card is only a slight negative for me. With reasonably priced 1 and 2 gig models available you really only have to buy 1 card. Who takes more than 300 photos on a single shoot?
I see the tiny lightweight battery as a huge plus. Because you can take so many shots on a single charge there is no reason for most folks to buy a second battery. If you DO want one for backup, you can get both an external charger AND a second NP-40 battery off eBay for $13 shipped. True, you cannot find replacement batteries at 7-11, but I think the small size lower weight makes up for it.
Not really trying to argue, just giving the opposite view to help you justify jumping in

Has anyone received this camera yet? Does it come with a wrist strap? If so, is the wrist strap good enough?

great buy at this price, especially after rebate, i got two from TigerDirect with the AMEX giftcards, and am very satisfied, actually it's not too far behind F20, admittedly a bit more noise at high iso when compared to f20, but still beats others like the panasonic dmc-lz5 hands down, all the night shots turn out crisp and clear, even without focus assist, and snappy response to boot, and don't forget to get a refund from Amazon at 1-800-201-7575 if you bought at higher prices
