hellmutt said:I bought TaxCut Deluxe 2007 including the free Fed and State Efile. This totally comes in handy because it's the premium version, so I THINK I essentially get a free upgrade to Premium but still get to use my free efile's I bought with the Deluxe. I jumped on this now, and I'll decide later whether to install it or stick with what I bought.

Thanks OP!

I hope you mean 2006

State program* - additional $24.95
Federal e-file - additional $15.95
One state e-file** - additional $15.95

Total: $56.85
This is to e-file federal/state and buy the state program all a la carte (assuming you can't find a freebie elsewhere)

mj56gt said:What's the advantage of downloading the software compared to using its online version if you still have to pay for e-filing?For that matter, why is all the tax software cheaping out this year and not including e-filing? Now it's this huge upgrade that usually exceeds the actual cost of e-filing.

Free-File

Went to irs.gov website, clicked on free-file link, went through H&R Block, and have recieved my tax refund check already for free.

Freefile,
not everyone qualifies, but if you don't make alot, could be worth it. Deny all extra Help, because they charge. I didnt buy the software, it used an online version of TaxCut through the Free-File link. It is Federal only free. State has file fee, But wouldnt have to buy software or pay federal file fee at least.
