seems like a pretty good price. there are some complaints on the reviews about it not being compatible with intel macs and runs at a slower 533mhz. doesn't fit in some HP's
I don't think it's possible to use the 20% off too. I think that is one of those instant savings type things and not a coupon code......Oh the day day Newegg sports a 20% off anything coupon, there is gonna be plenty of broke FW'ers including myself.
Or you can just PM Neweggs PNY 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 ($67.99) to Staples ($179.98) for a pretax total of $56.79 with no rebates. I did 3 sticks last night and used a $30 coupon for a total of $140.37.
hen calculating a price match, we’ll deduct any available Staples coupons, Staples Rebates (Instant, easy or mail–in) and manufacturer rebates from the Staples price to arrive at a net price. For example, if you buy an item from us for $100 and we offer a $20 instant rebate, the net price is $80. If another company’s price is $80 or more, we will not match the price. Another example: if you buy an item from us for $159 and you have a $30 coupon, the net price is $129. If another company’s price is $125, your price match would be $4.40 (110% of the difference).
they didn't give it to me... but it was a good try.

they didn't give it to me... but it was a good try. Matching at 110% for a price of $56.79 is according to Staples PM policy. If one CSR denies you, just call back and talk to another. That is how all Staples PMs are done,
Using coupons on the after price matched price is always YMMV, but the $56 price is strickly by their policy.
This may be a stupid question, but I just got a new Dell with 1 gb DDR2 ram (1 stick) 533 mhz. Can I put this in my machine even though it's 667 mhz? Thanks.

Theoretically, ddr2 667 should be back compatible, so you can use put it in your Dell, running at 533.

Thanks! If what I've got is 240 pin, will 200 pin work, or doesn't it work like that?

TinCanFury said: any idea if DDR2 PC5300 will work with a DDR PC2700 laptop? it seems these are cheaper than the DDR PC2700's right now... Search to see the number of pins on each. If they're different, it won't work.

duh, good point, didn't even think of that... guess I'll be paying more for slower memory =(

duh, good point, didn't even think of that... guess I'll be paying more for slower memory =( Why, all laptop DDR2 is 200 pin and can use a mix of faster and slower sticks. It will just run at the speed of the slowest stick. You don't need to "count pins".

OP asked for DDR PC2700, which is not compatible with DDR2 memory....
Good deal posted by tazmania99 for a stick of the same thing, except from Outpost.com with only a $10 rebate, and free shipping (and no Paypal). Pretty much the same price as when Newegg had the $74.99 price, with free shipping with the Paypal coupon code.
