pm6163 said: is 60X speed fast enough for 6MP digital camera?I think it depends on the camera. I've got a 7.1MP Canon and a really crappy US Modular SD card, and I don't experience any lag at all when taking pictures. Perhaps on a pro level camera like the Rebels or D40, D50, etc., but I'm guessing the 60x will only be realized when transfering from the card to the PC or vise versa.

Edit: camera is Canon SD630.
The spec on the webpage shows that only read speed is 60x:
Read Speed: 10 MB/s Write Speed: 2 MB/s
Depend on what you do most with the camera, just taking pictures will be ok with this, but I would suggest you get something with at least 7~8MB/s write speed if you intend on taking quick sequential shots or recording movies. FWIW, I had an SD300 and with a slow card and it would stop recording movie after 1 minute, but no problem after I switch to a faster card (kingston elite pro).

Based on my experience, I suggest you guys buy from online, last time I went into the store and waited 30 minutes for the guy just print out an order form, I gave up, because there would be another 30 minutes to go through the checkout line. Didn't count the driving time and the gas!
zc8 said: Anyone knows the write/read speed of a SanDisk 2gb SD card?
Depends on which SanDisk 2GB you're talking about of course.
The funny thing is SanDisk makes a line called Ultra II, which @ 1 time was their fastest... so that makes this post (OP's not yours) a little confusing!!
Also, somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought sheer size of card might also affect performance... so 2GB sounds great but for some uses is overkill. My Canon SD300 has lots of room & good speed w/ just a 512MB Ultra II (though I don't show movies). Again I'm not positive if all else equal a 512MB version of the same line of card is preferable to a 2GB.
Ha! The timing on this is impeccable. I'm going to pair this with my $8 cheapo MP3 player from kaidomain. Voila, 2 GB MP3 player for $13. Can't beat that with a stick.
geebeebee said: Has the free shipping on this gone away? I'm showing $6.00 for shipping now.... Showed free for me yesterday but today it is $6.32 to SE VA.
I could load it in the cart yesterday but every time I tried checking out it 'caused a server error.' Since I didn't really need it, I didn't go to the trouble of calling customer service...
Tempting but last time I tried to send in a Sandisk rebate, they wrote me a letter saying I didn't include the UPC when I clearly did. I hate rebates.

WOW.
I ordered one last night and it woudln't give me free shipping. Whatever, I order it.
I check the site now and its free shipping again. I call CS and see if they can refund the shipping charge. They say they can't. I just say cancel the order and I will buy it again.
The woman said that item number wasnt even showing up on her website, but she will call DHL and have them bring the card back.
Seems like a lot of work on their part when all they have to do is refund my shipping. Oh well, their loss.

writersblock said: Do you think this card can be used for Readyboost? My notebook has a flash media slot and I am considering using it to speed up the system.
I bought this for ready boost Vista on my Averatec 2150 integrated SD reader. No GO. Vista says it's not good enough. I don't know if its the Averatec integrated SD card reader or the card itself at this point.
Anyone get this card to work with Ready Boost Vista?

Oh man I'm furious.
I was hoping it would arrive today, didn't, checked my email and read one of the emails they sent, which says they CANCELLED my 2nd order for discrepensies between shipping or something.
Imma cal in tomorrow and find out why the heck they canceled the 2nd order
Today, I received word that my rebate was received. I mailed the rebate on 4-12-07.
Thank you for your purchase of a Ultra product. We have received your Ultra rebate and are processing your claim. Please allow 6-8 weeks for processing. If you would like to check the status of your claim online, please refer to www.rebate-zone.com/Ultra. Again, thank you for your patronage.
A few things...60X would be 8.8 MB/s, not 10. And IMO this should really be called a 13X, since the write speed is the most important speed for camera uses, and 2MB = 13.65X.
