Whoa, nice price on that bad boy even if it is a refurb. Anyone care to share their personal experiences w/ Sony refurbs?

Looks like if you apply for a Sony Credit Card you get $100 off first order, so possibly $900 for some...

I'd get one ... BUT ...

1) the cellular/Cingular ability is GSM/GPRS only and not UMTS
2) since it doesn't have UMTS, I'd like a regular PC-Card slot for my UMTS adapter ...
3) since it doesn't have a PC-Card slot, I'll take a CFcard, since I could use it with the camera ...
4) I just don't have any need for an MS slot ...

I'll stick with my Libretto ... since that has a PC-Card slot for my UMTS card, or my CF adapter ...

It's a great price, yes, however, I would strongly suggest anyone thinking of getting one to run to the local store first and spend half an hour with it first. I own one, and besides collecting dust on my desk, I don't do much else with it. It is a very cool gadget, does tons of stuff ok, but nothing great. Both cameras are ok, but don't compare to my digital cameras or video cameras. The screen is way too small, and my eyes start hurting in about 10 minutes of trying to see when surfing the internet. Typing is much more difficult than typing on a laptop. It's still much larger than a cell phone/PDA, so it's just weird, it's neither nor. I thought it would replace my laptop AND my blackberry, but it didn't neither. I would suggest buying a 12" screen laptop, or even the sony 10" screen laptop if you need something small and portable, the screen would still be useful and typing would be much easier. Otherwise stick to the new pearl blackberry pda, or the treo. Believe me, the novelty wears very quick, and then it just sits there collecting dust. Spend at least 30 min. playing with it, and try to do different tasks - word, internet, e-mail, camera functions, and etc. and determine if you would prefer to use that instead of your laptop/phone/digital camera/camcorder...

well said.. and if u still have the urge to buy it, the VGN-UX280P the next version is 129$ more for 10gig extra HD and 1 gig ram.

I'd consider it, except for 3 things:

A: 90 day warranty
B: Samsung Q1 Ultra will be released soon
C: it's sony

Can you give the link for VGN-UX280P?
