It's happening. As soon as you trade-in a DS Phat and add a new DS Lite it adds 10 dollar promo to your trade-in. The store didn't know it but verified it when I had them try it. |

Quick question..
I'm thinking about doing this. I can't for the life of me find my AC adapter. Will EB or GameStop still take my ds w/o it? |

I traded up last weekend at GameStop. I called them to verify before driving in, and the guy specifically mentioned it had to have the charger and a stylus. So I kept the strap and gave them the rest of the stuff. Maybe I should've kept the Metroid demo too? Eh, whatever. |

It has to have the power adapter, but they'll sell you one. Best buy, find a cheap replacment adapter and trade it in. |

Yay! I found the adapter!!
SO..I'm going to do this tonight. What exactly am I supposed to do? Just bring the box up to the counter and say "I wanna trade this in for a new ds lite"? They'll know what i'm talking about right? I've never done anything like this before..is it as easy as it sounds? |

I did my usual. Walked up handed him my DS and said "My friend told me you guys are running a promo for an extra 10 bucks trade-in if I trade this for a Nintendo DS Lite." He just scanned it, scanned a new one and the price came to 69.99. So I added my other trades of games and paid the difference.
Pretty simple, they shouldn't give ya a hard time. |

So, does the $10 promo bring the price down to $59? |

simbawang said:slycat said:ok..i have a ds original. Why would i trade that in AND pay $69 for a dslite? Its little smaller and sleeker but what else? DS lite also has a much brighter screen.
and it's more fragile, though the original ds plastic isn't that great either. |

no way, you can get rid of your DS phat on eBay for an average of 90 bucks
the trade-in for this is 130 - 70, which comes out to trading out your ds phat for 60 bucks.
coughing up a 30 dollar loss for convenience .. no thanks |
