gdx125z is the only one I got to work, I tried nearly all the codes in the first post. I finally got a .net renewal for $11.12, not very good. BTW, when I had two .net renewals in my cart the codes worked on only one, never on both. I had to renew them separately.

I suggest going with GoDaddy for the domain name, and some other host for features that will fit your development needs. You can purchase them both through GoDaddy if you'd like because they keep the accounts seperate.

Actually, you could've just transferred that domain out of Dreamhost. I signed up for the same deal and after the year I transferred my domain over to registerfly and now am using stargate. As for hosting, HostPC is good. They run alot of specials so if you can wait.....

BTW, they seem to have stopped including this in the 2nd post here, but GoDaddy gets you 12% back through FatCash! I just renewed my .us domain for 5 years at $6 per year, less the 12% FC. It's the cheapest I have seen for .us renewals, and I've been happy with GoDaddy.
I also picked up a .info domain to play with for 99c (just one year). The discount code did not take an extra 25% off on that.
Oh, and the 12% is a special amount for their Mothers Day CashBack sale. What a great gift for mom -- her own domain!!! It's better than jewelry or flowers!!!

Right, after it has expired you are screwed, you cannot transfer it. If you had done so before it expired, it should have worked.
I got stuck that way with RegisterFly the first year I had my domain. One day, my email's not getting delivered and I noticed they had changed the MX to point to their own server instead of where I was sending it. I did not get any renewal notices from them despite their claim that they had sent them (and I was getting their advertising). I had no choice but to renew with them to unlock my domain, but I then transferred to GoDaddy later that year.

The 25% off code supposedly expires today. I highly recommend it if you've been trying to renew a domain because as I've already said here, my experience using GoDaddy codes for renewals (and especially .us renewals) has been complete failure until this one.
