So I've been looking all over the place for a discount list of GoDaddy promo code and coupon -- half the codes I'm finding are inactive, so just list the ones you know are working right now. (this list of coupons is continuously updated.)

Post any coupons you find in the thread!

OYH3 - $2.50 off / $7.45 any .COM (renewals too... just used it)

BTPS7 - 20% any order of $50 or more

OYH1 - 10% off whatever

OYH2 - $5 off a $30 purchase

BTPS4 - 10% off anything

chill1 - 10% off

chill2 - $5 off $30

chill3 - $7.45 .coms

hash1 - 10% off

hash2 - $5 off $30

hash3 - $7.45 .com registration

gdd1101c - 10% off any order of $40 or more

Also, I've been wondering if GoDaddy has any codes that reduce the cost of .INFO's at $.99. Does anyone know of any?

Hi FW users,

I desperately need help regarding domains & hosting. I apologize if it seems newbish, but I'm not that good at this stuff.

I need to register a .COM domain name and get some hosting in the process. The site will see VERY little traffic, so price and stability is more of a concern than features. Can anyone recommend decent hosting that has no "gotcha" fees?

Also, I want to get the domain name so that it is mine and no one elses. What happened before is that I subscribed with Dreamhost with 777 coupon and at the end of the 1rst year, they wanted to charge me 120 a year. I waited until the domain expired and someone in China snagged it and registered it (it was some obscure name, so it looks like they were monitoring it). I want to be the owner the site and not the company who's hosting it.

Can anyone suggest the best course of action for me? Sorry for the long post

well in your case, you opted for the hosting plan with FREE domain. you should've paid for the domain since you wanted to keep it.

I suggest going with GoDaddy for the domain name, and some other host for features that will fit your development needs. You can purchase them both through GoDaddy if you'd like because they keep the accounts seperate.

Yea, that was my mistake.

In this case, what's the best course of action? Buy domain from GoDaddy and then get the hosting elsewhere like HostPC? Will there be any problems in transferring the domain?

What do you guys think?

promotion codes to hell? you can get there for free if you try - no purchase required.

Actually, you could've just transferred that domain out of Dreamhost. I signed up for the same deal and after the year I transferred my domain over to registerfly and now am using stargate. As for hosting, HostPC is good. They run alot of specials so if you can wait.....

I tried! I tried! Oh boy, how I tried like crazy.

Dreamhost said that it was on "hold" with the registrar after my domain expired and that I'd need to wait for it to expire completely to get it. Well, we all know how that went.

Anyone know if this works for renewals? I'm tired of going through the process only to find out that it's not valid on renewals. It's rare to find a coupon that works on .us domains.

Update: Wow, it really works on .us renewals.
