I like to sign up on this deal, But on-line won't allow me. Over phone CSR could not have this deal.

Did anyone renewed and got this deal?

I called and was told to cancel and re-apply online for this promotion since I was on 17.99 promotion. So asked to be transferred to cancellation dept. and the lady offered to crdit me the diff. between the 2 rates (14.99-17.99=$3*12 months)$36 instead of cancelling and reapplying.

you are lucky. if you were in chattanooga, tn, then all you could get is comcast. they have a monopoly in this city and the mayor and the government seem powerless against them. No other cable or internet company can come in unless you want to use satellites.

tyrone3971 said:ElGato01 said:tyrone3971 said:No deal here. As another poster said this is AT&T regular price.

Uhhhh I don't understand the point of your post. AT&T is NEVER available in the same area as Verizon and vice versa. And Verizon has wanted more money than this for this service lavel for a long long time.

Anyway, whatever, I edited the title.

I use the RoadRunner lowest service level at the moment which is $19.99 and if you don't buy enough of the Cable TV options they add another $5 to the bill. So I'm paying $25 for supposedly the same speed. However, with Verizon I was getting speeds of around 800 - 900 Kbps. With RoadRunner I'm lucky to hit 650Kbps. And there are No Other options available in my area, save the Dial UP . If this deal was around when I placed my order, I would have opted for Verizon instead of RoadRunner. So for me there is more than one thing that make this price hot. Although I accept it may not be for everyone. It doesn't mean this is not a hot deal it just means it is not for you.

Good Luck.
EG

Uhh what the hell are you talking about. I'm in SoCal and I can get Earthlink DSL, Verizon DSL, AT&T DSL, Charter Cable, and Earthlink Cable all to my door.

I called 18005676789 and was transferred to the cancellation dept. I just mentioned about this pricing being available online....I did not have to show them any URL .

You're lucky. On the promo page it says "A shipping and activation charge of $19.99 will apply"...that makes a savings of only $16.01 per year.

I'm on dry-loop 768K Verizon DSL right now at $19.95 a month. If I figure out a way to re-rate, I'll post.

I have this 768k plan on dry loop, it is definitely fast enough for HTTP surfing and downloading. Average download speeds for me are 80kb-100kb/sec when downloading files from websites.

My only major frustration is when downloading torrents. For some reason torrents only download at a speed of 5kb-15kb/sec on this plan. Anyone have the same experience?

www.800domains.com lists it as "tulsa phone directory".

I get as high as 50kb using bit-torrent.

Correct number is 800-567-6789

It says on their contact page "$14.99/mo. rate available for new residential DSL customers ordering 768 Kbps service online. One year commitment required."

I called to cancel and reorder, but got a pre-recorded message that I should call back later due to high call volume. Is everyone trying to do this?

After numerous tries, only tech support isn't busy. Billing is closed for the day and Cancellation has too high calling volume.

You need to open up a port on your firewall or try downloading highly available torrents.

I already have Verizon regular phone service.
How do I get DSL Dry Loop added for only $5 a month?
How do I avoid the $19.99 activation/start-up fee?

Thanks

Well you basically call them and tell them that you want to switch to Dry Loop. They will then tell you if it is available in your area and how much it costs in your area. Some folks are reporting that Verizon is charging $10 per month for the privilege of Dry Loop.

DC-metro area here.

It took literally 15 or more attempts for me to order dry loop DSL online. The system had problems for over two weeks. The CSRs could not process the order as it was online only.

I did finally get the service around October 2006 for 1-year at $19.95 per month. I was not able to avoid the ~$19 setup charge. However, I called in February to find out my renewal date and if a speed upgrade was available. Only 768K is available for my line. After explaining my frustration to the CSR (comcast has 6-months for $19.99 with $100 Amazon.com gift certificate), I was given two month free service without extending my renewal date.

So my blended rate will be $16.65 per month. I bought the westell wireless DSL modem/router off CL for $10.

Hey Gang,
I got in on a $14.99 plan last summer that expires in August. I've got 2 questions,
1)Can I just sign up now and have them start the contract from Aug. to next Aug at $14.99
2)Who owns the modem after my 1st year contract? I'd like to dump this 6100 and get the Versalink 327w. I don't want to find out that Verizon wants the 6100 back after my contract is over. Do they usually ask for the modem back after the contract has been completed?

The $14.99 includes phone service, right?
I already have a Verizon phone plan.
I'm hoping I can add dry loop DSL for $5 or $10.
The online test didn't show a dry loop plan.
The online chat CSR told me I'd have to call.
She gave me a number but wouldn't you know, my knee hit the power button before I could cut and paste it.
