Your first link takes me to a page where the product is priced at $279. I cannot find any reference there to a rebate. Can you point us to the rebate form?

glenatuf said: 1TB drives are out now...watch for this to drop a bunch real soon. I think its not a terrible buy, but it'll be 140ish within a few months... It's true, but you have to consider that this was >>> $300+ not so long ago and that you can't play the waiting game forever. Believe you me, I'd love to get a GeForce 9900GTX Ultra Uber l33t 4GB for $70AR, but I wouldn't want to wait a decade
Thanks for the heads up OP! In for two drives for $265.99 - $60 MIR - $5 PG Rebate = $200.99 shipped each. I just saved some money on my car insurance, err... hard drives
if you wait even longer they'll come out with technology to partition a part of your brain and you can use that as a 5TB drive. no more need to carry a usb thumb drive.
just make sure you don't hit the "make RAID" button by mistake or all your p0rn0 collections will be merged with your regular brain storage and you'll have sex on your mind all the time. hmmm... I guess if you're a guy it doesn't make much difference. could be a benefit.
...but my two raid 0 $110 raptors from best buy (weeks back) will leave those three plain jane SATA drives in the dust. lets compare apples to apples here.
Good price OP! I am personally holding off for the 1TB at $200 hopefully by this fall. I have read that the 1TB drives are faster than raptors due to the insane bit density!
WhoBeDaPlaya: there is a limit of 1 per cust. if that wasn't the case i'd be in for 5 so that i could apparently beat 2 rapturds in raid0. also to add to the argument, the performance of the rapture falls off over the 150GB, while if you were just looking at the first 150GB of the seagate you would see that it beats the rapture during some of the test. and then you have an extra 600GB too, all for the same price. unless you need the access times, i see no reason to go with the rapture.
