Jiffy Lube did a great job of changing my oil. Wait, let me clarify that. Jiffy Lube did a great job of draining my oil, putting new oil in it without bothering to screw the oil pan nut on tightly. Drove 10 miles and had a trail of oil back to jiffy lube. Never again. No damage done but comon', they are there to do 1 thing that takes all of 5 steps and they messed it up.

What are the details for the 20 dollar VW dealer synthetic oil change? A believeable price for 1975 but not today.

Horrible place. Biggest scammers ever, if you Dont believe me its caught on camera. Moral of the story is always be by your car when the work is done. This is not for only Jiffy lube but everywhere or you will get ripped off later on.

Does anybody know where to get cheap oil for those who want to do it themselves? Seems like evryone has jacked up the price of oil recently.

i used to diy, but now im too lazy
WalMart is $42.99
jiffy $59.99
for mobil 1 changes, anyone know a lower rate at reputable chain?

i dunno why u guys bash jiffy, they seem to have the lowest rate for a chain (valvoline, ez lube, and etc)

Do you have Pepboys nearby? Exxon Superflo is one of the better conventional oils. And at $0.99/qt., it's economical too.

Very easy to find good oil change place.

I did the following:

Go to craigslist's automotive services section and search for 'Oil Change'

Get the name of the shop, go to www.yelp.com and look for user's comments regarding the shop.

I just find one like that last week. The shop that did my oil change (19.95, 5 qt oils, oil filter, top of all fluids and tire pressure check) was really good.

Hope it helps.

"This is the third time in three years that NBC4 went undercover inside Jiffy Lube. After each investigation, Jiffy Lube has promised to clean up its act. But now, NBC4's hidden cameras reveal there are still big problems at some LA area stores."

3 times in 3 years is unbelievably bad in customer service... I am amazed that anyone would go back there after seeing this. Yes I am aware, that any shop can rip you off. But how does a company survive with this kind of brand image alone... then again, Firestone

I guess changing your oil is the way to go... even though I'll admit I go back to the dealer, but with a car wash and vacuum, it's worth the couple extra dollars, plus peace of mind, and dealer loyalty...

I've always had good luck with Jiffy Lube. I like the offer, but I'm not sure that I'd get a second oil change by September as demanded on the coupon. Thanks

I buy Mobil 1 gallon bottles at Wal Mart, the filter at the dealer's parts department, and then pay the dealer $12 to change the oil using my supplies. Call your dealer and see if they will do this for you. It's worth $12 for the tech to get dirty instead of me, and have them dispose of the oil. Total runs about $40, with the assurance that it's done by the dealer. (This is at Red McCombs Toyota in San Antonio). I use to get mine done at Wal Mart until they broke off the inlet to my radiator and didn't bother to tell me. I have also had them underfill the oil and put the drain plug in without a gasket, which caused it to drip oil. Not to mention not taking off the brush guard underneath my SUV and draining the oil all over the brush guard. I wouldn't recommend Wal Mart to anyone.

isnt that worthy of a lawsuit? going into a oil service place and having them endanger your engine's life?

i've had bad experience at WalMart not using the correct oil i ordered but never something serious
