As mentioned in the other thread, the same router is $39.99 in BB. PM to BB, but you have to find a way to PM only 100%, since the min purchase price is $39.99 for the CC rebates. If PM flys and if you are able to get the rebates, you should be able to get the router for $20-ish plus tax on $40. I got it a couple of days back, was able to install DD-WRT on it last night, just took 5 min to install DD-WRT. Have been using the router since last night, been rock solid so far. The signal strength looks good too, better then linksys WRT54G (ver6) that I had before. The QOS feature in DD-WRT is great. Will work wonders for VOIP and P2P.
Can anyone please explain the specialty of this router compared to regular routers? Staples is selling Linksys 802.11g router with the card for $29.99. I just don't understand why people praise this router.

Thanks very much for any inputs. Buffalo is more flexible for power users. You can give it features of more expensive routers.
- 15 off 100 is full price only. - router is $50 at BB, so no PM, i dont think - matching USB adapter is now $29.99 Buffalo Technology Wireless-G 125 High-Speed USB Keychain Adapter (WLIU2KG125S)

EDIT: My Linksys is still NIB, so I have not installed it yet, let alone flashed it.

EDIT: My Linksys is still NIB, so I have not installed it yet, let alone flashed it. Same hardware inside, basically. Either can be flashed to DD-WRT. My LinkSys WRT54Gv2 is still running strong, on factory firmware, in WDS mode with my Motorola WR850Gv2 router.

I'm basically looking for something I don't need to flash/upgrade/etc. for someone's parent. Just want something that I can plug in, and use that's a G router to work with their MacBook. I kinda feel like this isn't the right router for that.
Can someone post a link to the $25 rebate? I didn't save them when I ordered, and the current rebate links are for two $10 links (and my puchase date doesn't quality for the second).

A teensy bit of work and I answered my own question:
