underclocker said: I have a similar one and I've used Xilisoft mp4 converter and also this one that is a bit more simple.
It took at 2 hour movie and at 224 x 176 and 20 frames per second (715 kbs) it was a 500mb file.
Another thing that I've done is use a dvd ripper and rip the 8 or so vobs onto my computer and then convert them file by file - I've liked having a few files more than just 1 big one since there is less problems with video and audio getting out of synch and also it is easier to find your place after a long break.
For more specs on this player see Here. The 260k color display and 2.4 inches is nice. Until you can fold a screen, I think this is the biggest screen that you can slip into your shirt pocket.
Thanks for the info!! |

It's No.1 brand in China, with Philips chip for audio and Samsung ARM chip for control, excellent sound and solid building quality.

very tempting. I don't have a portable video player. Only have an old Creative hard disk mp3. SO what are its competitors and their prices? |

man i pulled the trigger. the competitors suk, and after looking at the review, this is the mp3 player. looks like they have consistently released patches, and is now a very stable player. Thing is, for that price you are getting almost a laptop. excellent deal if you ask me.
no tax for me in DC too, |

reviews are very very good. thing is that this mp3 used to cost more than $300, and is now down to $100, which is real good price for what you get. |

Just got 1. With so many good reviews and low price tag, it's not a big risk. |

Cowon is comparable - they have excellent units but they tend to higher prices. A 4GB Cowon goes for ~$190 at Newegg etc
A lot of the Chinese players almost at this quality tend to get rebranded and not go under their own name. I think that the best ones tend to use their own name. HouseOfDap.com has the Teclast, Meizu and Ramos.
I was looking at the Teclast players after I read this at dapreview.net. The T29 and C280 from Teclast both get good reviews.
c280 $109 8GB t29 $129
One thing that should warn you off of a Chinese player is when they advertise MTV or AMV format. Typically they use that format because they are underpowered for video. AVI using XVID/DIVX like Teclast and Meizu looks better. |

I will throw away my Creative one; the sound quality was bad. Go for Meizu! So cool. |
