cool.
I just found this:
When members of the participating car clubs purchase four select Bridgestone Potenza tires they will receive a $100 rebate. The participating car clubs are:

BMW Car Club of America (BMWCCA)
Ferrari Club of America (FCA)
Mercedes Benz Club of America (MBCA)
National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC)
Porsche Club of America (PCA)
Sports Car Club of America (SCCA)
Bridgestone Potenza tires eligible for this program include the Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R, Potenza RE050A Pole Position, Potenza RE050A and the Potenza RE960AS Pole Position. Additionally, members of the National Corvette Club (NCCC) may also choose from the Firehawk SZ50 EP RFT and Firehawk Wide Oval tires.

BFNT’s promotion is exclusive to members of the eligible clubs and cannot be used in conjunction with other Bridgestone Firestone national rebates. Participants of this promotion may visit www.Potenza.com to learn more about Bridgestone-brand performance tires and to track the status of their rebate.

Great thread!! I'm looking for 4 new tires. TireRack is a wonderful site w/ lots of info & reviews. I see some bad ones for good tires. It's probably because of different rating people get, T or H, V. For same model & size, the more expensive tires w/ better H, V rating often have lower threadwear warranty, anyone knows why? Aren't they supposed to run longer at faster safe speed?

Depends on the compound of the rubber. Soft has more grip, but wears out faster.

Has anyone else noticed that the Discount Tires BF Goodrich $50 debit card promotion form says "...receives a $50 debit card to use at this location."? So I can only use it for my next purchase at that Discount Tires...?

good catch exbat.
makes you think twice about choosing this over the costco instant $60 coupon.
Only reason I was going to do this is because I was going to stack the $25 coupon with a $25 rebate and $50 rebate on the BFGoodrich Long Trails. I am also going to try bringing in my $60 coupon from costco for a quadruple whammy, but if they don't accept it, I would only come out $25 ahead of a costco purchase. It may not be worth it if the $50 rebate is only for more tires.

I'll add your observation to the original post.

In case anyone out there hasn't bought at costco yet, you may want to try what I did:
I went to costco.com and put 4 BFG longtrail TA tires in my cart and proceeded to checkout. Before check out I printed out the total with 60 discount and also the details, which included a breakdown of all the fees.
Then I didn't purchase at costco, but instead took the sheet down to DiscountTire. They are so eager to PM costco that they even have a sign out front that says "we beat costco prices".

Anyway, before I showed him my printouts, the totals were 5 bux higher than costco. So I whipped out the breakdown and he matched it (actually went a dollar under).
Additionally, I applied for the carcareone card, so I will send in for a $25 rebate (for purchases over $300) and I will apply for the $50 BFG/Discount Tire rebate linked in the OP.

If I get all the rebates, I'll have saved $60 plus $75.
Total OTD for 4 truck tires installed: $509
After rebates: $434

Granted the DiscountTire rebates are for GC's only good at DiscountTire, but what the hey!
BTW, they wouldn't take the $25 coupon (I tried, of course) because they can't use a PM with a coupon.

How does DiscountTire's warrantee compare with Costco's? Also, do they inflate using nitrogen?

alert mods

I didn't ask them about nitrogen. It really doesn't matter to me about that.
Their warranty seems very similar, correct me if I'm wrong.
From their website:
Included with tire purchase
Free Valve Stems
We'll replace your old valve stems with brand new ones.
Prorated Road Hazard
Tires damaged due to normal road hazards will be prorated based on treadwear. For a little extra peace of mind, our Certificate for Free Replacement is available for purchase.
Lifetime Rotations
Regular rotations ensure the longest treadlife from your tires.

That certificate for free replacement is $15 per tire.

Now, I think that their standard prorated warranty is the same as costco's but with costco, they so often won't even blink at just giving you a new free tire if you blow one out and it's still pretty new. (I've done that and more) Whereas, Discounttire, I can't imagine they would do that, especially since they gave you the option to buy the certificate in the first place.

So, I think it all really depends on how much your particular costco will do for you.

The certificate:
In the event one or more of your tires fail due to defect, or incurs damage that cannot be repaired, Discount Tire will replace it absolutely FREE. Regardless of the number of miles you put on the tires, you will be covered for the life of the original tread down to 3/32" remaining, or 3 years from the date of purchase. We have been offering this warranty for over 30 years. This Certificate for Free Replacement is unbeatable in the tire industry!

I was only eligible for the $25 carcareone rebate because my purchase was under $600. If my purchase had been $540, I might have added the extra $60 certificate to get back an additional $25. (making the cert cost only $35 or about $8/tire)

On the Bridgestone $100 rebate (via bmw membership) and also American tire up to $100 AMEX gift card.
Both require original invoice, anyone get more than one copy of invoice from American Tire?

Just login to my Costco account and they give $40 discount for any 4 BFG not on the list automatically. I'll see if Sears and Discount Tire can PM or beat Costco but they probably won't include Road Harzard free like Costco.

BFGoodrich® Traction T/A® H 205/65R15
Item # 793819 Standard $76.99 $307.96
4 Installation Package
Item # 6850 Standard $10.00 $40.00
Disposal Fee
Item # 7023 Standard $4.00
State Tire Fee
Item # 10000007 Standard $7.00

Subtotal: $358.96
Shipping & Handling: $0.00
Tax: $24.18
Less Coupon(s): ( $40.00)
Order Total: $343.14

I'm still debating if I should get the T rate for $3 less per tire to have 70K treadware vs 60K w/ the H rated.

They'll include anything that costco includes at discounttire, but they will ask to see your costco card and if you don't bring a print out of the costco estimate, they'll try to add on small stuff. If you're prepared, like a good fatwalleter you should be able to get a great deal.

Alas, I'm only a mediocre fatwalleter, I forgot to demand they include my 2% executive membership rebate for another $10 off!

If you have an execmembership give it a try and report back to us. I want to know every nuance about the expressions on their faces when you bring it up. LOL.

Is there a page on costco.com that has all of the information listed before you actually commit the credit card purchase? The payment screen only shows a summary with the coupon discount but not the itemized list, so I don't think it's sufficient for a PM.

The cart page shows an itemized list but does not include the discount, so it's also insufficient for a PM.

I'm wondering if I put in a credit card, and select "continue checkout" will I get an itemized list similar to what is above or will it go ahead and charge my card? I would like the itemized list without having my card charged so that I can print it out to take to discount tire company for the PM.

there isn't just one page. I had to print out the itemized list from the cart page, then I clicked continue (or whatever) and got to the payment page with the coupon, which I also printed out.

show both when you pm.

Just came back from Discount Tire company - thanks to everyone for their help. Discount Tire runs a pretty efficient operation - I was in and out in about 45 minutes (I've been stranded at Costco for a lot longer before).

They were out of the BF Goodrich, but had the slightly more expensive Michelins. Couldn't get the free replacement road hazard thrown in for free though, as Discount states that their standard pro-rated replacement is actually better than the standard road hazzard that Costco gives (I knew this going in, but thought it was worth asking, anyway). For the Michelin's the free replacement costs $18/tire, so I opted out. Has anyone successfully gotten the free replacement road hazard thrown in at no charge?

Now, if the $40 Michelin rebate goes through, the tires will be about the same price as the BF Goodrich, so I can't complain at all - thanks to Fatwallet!
