I highly recommend the triple tread assurance tires to anyone who dosen't drive a sports car and dosen't own dedicated snow tires. They rock in snow, water and are good on dry surfaces.

now hopefully bfgoodrich traction t/a's are on sale/rebates!
Check with Tire Kingdom/Merchant's Tire if they are in your area. I just put Traction T/A's on my wifes car last month & they were having a buy 3 get 1 free deal on Traction T/A's. I believe I saw an ad that extended it into May, but I'm not certain. Made the tires cheaper than any rebate that I found.
sactokngs said: The "fine print" on the BF Goodrich $100 says Offer only valid in Canada! You're right! I fixed that. I found that Discount Tires has an additional rebate on BFGoodrich, Continental, General Tire, Pirelli & Yokohama. I'll add to the post. The rebate form says "not valid with any other offer" but the page that links to the rebate says "you can get additional savings by using your carcareone card"

I second that--we put 4 on the momobile in November and have been very pleased. The rebate was processed within the 12 weeks, but lost in the mail. Getting Goodyear to replace the refund was suprisingly easy. Overall a great experience.

man what timing
im looking for some 275/55-20 tires for my quad dodge ram 02 truck so far discount tire is the best (here in Houston) and if you sign up for their email list, you should get a $25 gift card (print out email card) like i did so right now i like the General Grabber UHP with $40 rebate plus my gift card is looking good. plus i already have a discount tire CarCareOne credit card which gives me the 6 month 0 financing
oh you think i can get another $50 rebate by using the CarCareOne Card?
so $25 gift card Discount Tire, $40 rebate from General Tires, $50 rebate from CareCarOne Card, thats a deal
I heard a RUMOR today. Maybe someone here can confirm it? Costco will have a new $60 discount on 4 tires in June and it might include the BF Goodrich? Supposedly it comes in the new passport book. Whoever gets it in the snailmail first, please confirm or unconfirm it. I need to decide before the current rebates expire.

Iam planning to get the Firehawk Wide Oval because they have 100$ rebate. Does anybody know if they are good?
BTW, thanks OP for this good summary of all the deals! Helped me a lot to decide. I thought of Costco but firestone looked cheaper! Costco came to 156.99 per tire(-15 for rebate) where as firestone is only 112.99(-25$ rebate)! Looks like a steal for me!
Thanks for doing all of the work, OP! Sears is currently running a sale thru 5/19 on certain Goodyear tires so those prices are less than w'mart's but they're also offering 20$ or 40$ Sears gift cards. Gotta make a decision before I'm down to the wear bars!

Gotta make a decision before I'm down to the wear bars! "Shears" -as I call them- wants within $20 for their Goodyear HR tires as the Michelin Hydroedge's I ordered from CostCo. They apparently put certain SIZES of Goodyears on sale, --- not the entire line.

Evan's Tires is offering buy 3 Falken tires get the 4th Falken tire for free till the 31st of this month.
I bought the Goodyear Triple Tread for my Grand Marquis. The $80 rebate is through the goodyear credit card and is in the form of an $80 cash card. I recieved mine in about 5 weeks after I purchased the tires. Also they are great tires and a good test on a Grand Marquis which is still rear wheel drive.

I urge anyone looking at these retail outlets to first get a quote from TireRack.com

unless you can mount and balance the tires yourself, the total cost for me is only like $30 than buying and installing them at Discount Tire plus no shipping wait time.
also if i include those coupons, its actually cheaper for me to buy at discount

TireRack.com partners with local installers that usually mount for a reasonable price. Just saying, shop there first and see if the retailer is able to match.
whoDean said: I urge anyone looking at these retail outlets to first get a quote from TireRack.comI got the local Wheel Works tires dealer to almost match the total price of the tires plus shipping, so I got the tires from them. After doing this, I saw that the local Big O dealer had a better total price. Big O tires lets you get a price quote online at bigo.com and the price quoted for me was not the same at each of their local shops.

While getting a flat fixed at Sears, I was told by the tire installer that they would price match TireRack. Since then I read the Sears pricematch policy, and I'm not so sure. I plan to give it a try next time I'm buying tires since Sears is so convenient for me (within walking distance of home).
Has anyone else ever tried PMing Sears to an online retailer?
Sears will pricematch if they have the same (has to be the exact model number) tires + shipping price. It doesn't stop there, you need to add tax.

dont know if this works but click here for $25 gift card to Discount Tire, I beleive you can use this online also. Expires 6/30/2007
Thanks for the gc link, pelochas1029. It says not valid with any other offer. The validity of the other rebates may depend on how the retailer rings up the gift card. Have you tried to use this with another rebate yet? What does your receipt say?

Everyone needs to assess the difference in prices but for some people TireRack.com is MUCH cheaper.
4 tires for my car at Discount Tire is $940. 4 tires for my car through TireRack is $620.
YMMV but everyone should at least check them out.

If you buy from Discount Tire, check the Tire Rack price + shipping first. In Austin TX, Discount Tire will match the Tire Rack price as long as you include shipping on top of the Tire Rack price. On some tire brands/sizes, there are is no advantage, but on others, it can be $30-$50 a set. All you have to do is print the page where it shows the total including shipping, and ask for a price match when replacing your tires. I did this at one on Hwy 183, and the one in Round Rock (5 months ago), each saving me about $30. I also did this at the NTB at 183&Mopac, but that was 5+years ago.
i would like to know too. am looking for 4 new tires..BF Goodrich Traction T/A H are 68.99 x 4 = $276

well i finally went to discount tires to get me some new tires but i ran into problems with inventory and never was able to get the General Tires UHP 275/55-r20 size tires for $139 each. They looked around to get the tires from another store but i got talked into getting other tires they had in stock. i resisted and they asked why and whats the deal with the General Tires and i simply said because of the MIRs so the mangr made me a deal i couldnt resist. I got 4 tires of the Yokohama Parada Spec-X for $140 each. Tire Rack has the for $151 and Discount Tire has them for $171 but the manager cut a deal and knocked off $31 each tire for $140 each. What a deal plus i didnt know but the same MIR i had for the General Tires also is good for the Yokohama so even sweeter and the $50 rebate for using the CarCareOne card. One bad note though i simply forgot to pull out my $25 gift card i got. Overall im very satisfied with these tires, i already put a 200 miles on them and they feel and ride great.
cool deal, pelochas. It never hurts to talk to them. I'm still waiting for word on the costco deal in June, but I did call Big O tires and they were determined to talk me out of the BFGoodrich and into some other tire. They were weird brands that I'd never heard of.
With all the stupid fees and pricematching technicalities and rebate voidings and signing up for credit cards, I am probably just going to go with Tire Rack + 40 dollar rebate for some Kuhmo ASX's
