Here's how I figured it. I paid $30.00 for shipping, I looked it up on Fedex and it was $24.$$ for shipping (estimated), I can only imagine $6.00 for handling. That's a little much for a box and 50 peanuts, but still, I saved $120.00.

This will make a wonderful paperweight. I've been looking for something to set on my Nintendo DS manuals to prevent them from blowing around when I leave windows open.

haha, funny but overly harsh
I'm a DS guy but the PSP is great for emulation. To be honest I barely play mine, but for fans of old school gaming you really can't beat the PSP.
2 Day and 3 day shipping were both $12.50...may want to check before you check out what 2 day costs to ship to you.

Since when were refurbed PSPs $240? You saved probably $20-30, and if you need to return the product for a refund, you're out $30 shipping.

a brand new psp core is $169 with free shipping at Amazon.com
wow. these guys must have really cleaned up their act...
they used to be the biggest frauds on the net...: http://www.attorneygeneral.state.tn.us/cases/consumerdepot/consumerdepot.htm
looks like they did eBay for a while, and now are back on their website. only thing that worries me is that so many of their reviewers on resellerratings have only posted single reviews (only for consumerdepot and nobody else)

that happens? i use my phone for emulation so i have neither .. all my opinion consists of is various reading and store demos but it doesnt seem like the ds is even the same generation as the psp... as far as ds<psp.

$240? I was referring to the Xbox 360 I bought from these guys. Read previous posts.

Indeed, which is why I referred to Resellerratings. But I wanted to note (in OP) that I had a good experience with them. My buddy just got the 2 Xbox 360 controllers ($39.99) and they work great. Slightly used, but heck its better than spending $100.

To those actively seeking a PSP, please note, there is quite a bit of chatter about a redesigned one dropping soon. If you want a deal, this was flaming. If you need the newest and best, keep your wallet closed.

so to summarize what you said, psp>ds because of specs. and how many times and how many companies have tried to compete with nintendo with specs and the numbers on the screen? many times. go and try to play the games. gameplay and fun-wise (which is games are for), ds wins by far.

There is also a lot of chatter about cars that run on air. Should I not buy another car again?
This is now, unless you can show a release date relatively soon I don't see how hearing "chatter" should affect anyone's purchase.

Seemed like a good deal. OOS when I got there, but seems like a good place to find some deals, so thanks for that!
Thankfully, the PSP and AC adapter were both bubble wrapped. Kinda amateur, but they seem to be in good shape. Few minor scratches, but I'd call it very good condition.
To my surprise, it came with a 1gb memory stick! Sweet. Battery holds a full charge, trying to unlock it now. Hope everyone else is as satisfied as I with their PSPs.

My PSP also came today. Was the 1GB stick inside the psp? Mine didn't come with one, but it never said that it will. The bad part is that my psp came with a 2.82 firmware which will need an unpatched gta to downgrade.
Yes, the 1gb stick was inside the PSP. Sadly mine is 3.11 firmware, which, please correct me if I'm wrong, is as yet uncrackable. Any chance of rolling it back?

Recently they found a way so that all firmwares and now hackable or whatever. Just look around for some updated threads on google for other gaming forums.
You are wrong, they're all rumors. There's absolutely no downgrader for v3.0+. Don't waste your time.
Got mine today, waiting out the 3 day weekend was brutal.
It arrived like iSeller said, straight in the box with bubblewrap. 1 PSP, 1 wriststrap, 1 AC Adapter. No bonus memory stick for me. Picture of the packaging:
Mine is very scratched and pitted. It will definitely need a new face plate. It also has firmware 3.11, which is disappointing since I wanted to do homebrew, especially emulators.
It seems to work fine. I can't tell if there are dead/stuck pixels because of the pits and scratches, but I dont think there are. Battery charged to 100%, I think all the buttons work, and the USB port works. I'll get a UMD and a memory stick to try it out with. Once I've got a new faceplate on there maybe I'll sell it and try to get a lower firmware one.
As far as Consumer Depot goes, they shipped my order very quickly, and e-mailed me an order confirmation and tracking number. If I ordered from them again I would expect a highly used / blemished item.
In pretty good condition, a couple of light scratches here and there, but excellent otherwise. Battery holds a charge well. Motherboard is TA-082 and Firmware 3.03, which is homebrew capable assuming you can find a copy of unpatched GTA (ordered one off of eBay for 40 bucks, can resell it after I downgrade my PSP firmware). According to Wiki, 3.03 is the last homebrew capable version
