Glare is a problem on plasma.
Btw, the refurbs on TigerDirect are $699 after $50 rebate. Just FYI.

In the specifications, they mention a TV stand. It is not clear whether the stand is included or not. If it is not included, which stand is it and where does one get it from?
i hate myself for buying 42" vizio plasma last march madness at costco $1500 after $300 coupon. should i return it?

HI all; I want to buy a TV for my dad this Father's day and I'll like some advice on which set from Costco is the better buy: The 42" Visio or the Panasonic 37" HDTV Plasma also for $899 seen here. I do own a PS3 however & I'll like to game several hrs a week. But then again, this is for me dad. Thoughts please? Thanks all...

Looks like there will be a shipping and handling charge. The last time a coworker got an LCD from Costco, I think he was hit with a $150 charge. Just keep this in mind. If it's the 1080p, it'll still be pretty hot.

CC is plasma. This is LCDTV.

I don't want to start the debate between Plasma/LCD... But I am going to give me general uses for it and hope I get a decent response without starting a flame war...
If someone can list pro/cons of each one, I would feel much more confident in my purchase. I would love to use PC input, but it is not required as I could just get another TV. Btw, I am furnishing a new house...
And plus, the Plasma at CC could indefinately be almost $80 cheaper with the 10% off coupon. Or not to forget the Westinghouse 42" 720p LCD TV, but that probably couldn't compare to the Vizio 1080i right? I am not very educated in TVs other than I know I need a TV soon, and I was going to wait till BF 07, but the current deals seem good.
I'm guessing it's just the foot attached at the bottom of the TV.

HEADS UP: I got the 37" Vizio LCD 3 weeks ago for $799 (Costco)....very happy with it but somewhere on this thread I saw a 42" Vizio Plasma at Costco for $899 so I went to look at it.I thought the picture was somewhat washed( I look at the text on screen of a display model and the edges must be sharp and crisp and somewhat photo like) I decided not to upgrade even though it was only $100 more. It did have all the inputs and outputs as the 37" including 2 HDMI and 1 VGA plus 2 HDTV (GBR) ETC. Both are Clear QAM I will definitely look at the 42" LCD IN JUNE if its 1080P I'll boxing up the 37" to trade up to 42"
Question: Is any one using on there desk a 32" Monitor/TV... Is it to large to be a computer Monitor or can you Reduce the screen size?? I already have a 26" Westinghouse with ASTC/HD tuner + QAM HDMI/VGA from Sams (better return policy for now) it was $483 plus tax. Its picture quality is as good as the $749 26" Maxent I returned to Costco.....

The news I got from avsforum is the $200 is for the 1080p 42" model which is not out yet and is right around the corner. I could be wrong but that's what I read.
$200 off for vizio 42" 1080p 2 hdmi ports valid june 25-july 1 item 200042
$200 off for vizio 52" 1080p 4 hdmi ports valid aug 20-aug 26 item 200552

I received the coupon book yesterday, and it is in there. It's tempting.
My brother tells me that if you go for plasma, it uses more electricity than LCD, thus it will cost more in the long run to use it, so taking that into consideration, LCD might be a more budget friendly option.
