Note that you get $10 worth of prepaid minutes with a new tmo2go phone, so this is defintely a great deal considering that this phone goes for about $75 on e-bay without a sim card. You need to add $90 to get to the gold rewards level, which ensures that your minutes don't expire for an entire year. See T-Mobile website for explanation of the gold rewards and cost of recharge cards. Also howardforums.com has a forum deidcated to tmo2go users.
First, let me correct user12345 who seems to have been born the day before yesterday ...

The phone comes with 10 minutes, not $10.

Adding $90 gets you to Gold Rewards, but the benefits (1 year expiration) do not take affect until the next refill. The only way to get Gold Rewards benefits immediately is adding any denomination of cards equalling $100 at one time. Note that this is a mute point for the V195, since you would have to add $100 for gold rewards anyway.

this is a quad-band GSM phone, so it will work with any GSM network anywhere in the world after it's unlocked.
When you get the phone from T-Mobile it is LOCKED to T-Mobile which means it only accepts T-Mobile sim cards. So it will reject any non T-Mobile sim cards.
After you unlock it, it will accepts any sim card from any carrier in the world. To unlock the phone you have several options:
1. Go to a place that unlocks phones. These places have special software and/or hardware that can unlock the phone without requiring to have the unlock code. They usually charge $10-$20.
2. Get the unlock code from T-Mobile and follow the instructions to enter it into the phone.
3. Flash the phone with a new firmware (only recommended for phone hackers as this is a complicated process which could "brick" the phone).

Thanks for the good deal, NoMoneyInMyWallet. Now I have no money in my wallet too.

It will work in Hong Kong after unlock, if China is using GSM, I think it will work.

If you can unlock it, yes, flawlessly.

This phone is a pain to unlock. To do so, you first have to entirely dissassemble the phone, in order to create a ground to a specific point on the circuit board. WHILE you have it grounded, you need to boot up the phone and set it to accept new firmware. THEN you have to reassemble the phone, connect it with the proper cable, use the proper firmware, and flash.

That's the unlock by TP procedure, you can always try to get the unlock code from T-Mobile. I had been getting the code from them sucessfully, being a pre-paid customers, and usually get the code in a few days of account activation.

You need to flex the phone with a Chinese language pack, 015 for simplified Chinese. Unsure about traditional.

Thanks, I did this for a motorola L2, I thought the language packs are phone specific? So you mean 015 will work for any motorola? Thanks.
