I think if you went to the store with gift cards sent to you from "Aunt Betty" (or whoever) they would let you shop. How else would you redeem them? I would take it up with management if they tried to require you to buy a membership to redeem their gift cards.

How will the extended warranty that costco offers work for items that you buy during this period, e.g. the Vizio? Do I still get the extra year of warranty + 90 days return policy?

Lets talk Facts here you do not have to be a member to use a cash card, nor do you need to have a membership card to get in the door or checkout (code 99). But normally a member has to purchase the cash cards for you and then you can go shop without said member.

Next fact although the offer says you have to use AMEX I used visa and my cc has the pending charge on it took 2 hrs before authorization pend charge showed up but it's there.

Since I have been using cash cards for several years to shop @ costco.
Ymmv You may have to go to customer service desk to get a white slip and show your drivers lic. or other ID at some stores.

Wow. Nice job giving red to everyone that corrected your statement. You cannot use giftcards/cash/atm at Costco without them asking for your membership card or number. You have trouble dealing with criticism?

Wow, now I can pick up that casket I've been looking at without the surcharge. But really, thanx for the info, I don't have a costco near me and I have been wanting to buy some stuff from there.
