Use Costco membership number: 111775758538
Valid from June 27 - August 26, 2007.

Since this is a promotion from American Express, you are required to use American Express card for the purchase.

From the terms of the promotion:

Purchase on costco.com must be made with an American Express® Card from 6/27/07–8/26/07.

"As a special offer to American Express cardmembers who are not currently Costco members, Costco is waiving the 5% surcharge for shopping online at Costco.com."

Has anyone without a membership actually tried this? I have one already and I have paid for stuff online with a Visa. I just checked and for online purchases you can use Visa, MC, Discover OR AMEX. Now, there might be something specific for this "member number" to allow AMEX only... but that seems a little unlikely.

Nice find! I just about purchased the 42" Vizio 1080p LCD TV (VU42LF). Maybe I'll get it before July 1st, when the $200 discount ends.

LCD TV $999
Shipping $62
Tax $71
Total $1132

Not bad for 1080p

You only get Costco rebates from AMEX if you use your OWN AMEX card at Costco...it's tied to the CC not the membership number so there goes that conspiricy theory.

Don't know if this will work because Costco still checks for a Costco membership card.. the gift card is just the payment method (ie replacing an AMEX or Cash).
