Yamaha HTIB, $149 at Radioshack, excellent value for $$$ Archived From: Hot Deals |
This manual shows the unit has 2 component inputs and 2 digital audio inputs, as well as other details... |
coolpizza said:How does this compare to Onkyo HTS-590? From the looks of things (specs/features) it looks to compare very well. Sound can be another thing of course! But they are definitely competitors of one another. One feature the Onkyo system has, that I don't see here, is the system EQ function. |

whats the sound quality of this set, can't find any reviews anywhere. |
passive subwoofer. comment if i'm being too harsh, but passive subwoofers kinda suck. and i think you'd regret buying one. |

PReMieR said:passive subwoofer. Yup. They sucks. But you're not gonna find anything with a nice active sub for anything close to this price range... |
rbraden said:PReMieR said:passive subwoofer. Passive vs active doesn't make much difference if the amp is good enough. The major difference between the 2 is the convenience of not having to have a receiver with a built in powered sub channel to power it. Most of the sonic difference is just that passive subwoofers are packaged with lower quality budget receivers while powered ones tend to be packaged with better receivers. You might gain a little cleanness by not having the powered wiring but it's not a huge difference. |
